The sound check seems to be going pretty well.

Is anyone heading along to this tonight?

I'm glad I moved 40+ miles out of earshot.

Because I think they're absolute shite.

Unless you've flitted to Hamilton Im not really sure why that needed explaining.

I would much rather see Joe Walsh solo, I've been a fan since his James Gang days.

Sorry but the eagles are tremendous. Seen them live before and are as good live as they are in recording. People can have their opinions but I  am a massive fan.

It would be boring if we all liked the same stuff. I'm not exactly a massive fan but nothing against them. There are certain bands that it just seems to be "cool" to say you don't like them.

I know what you mean.

When R.E.M came to Murrayfield in 1995 I remember you could everything clear as a bell sitting in Roseburn Park. The Cranberries were the support, poor Dolores O'Riordan, may God bless her sweet soul.

Anyway, one thing I love about R.E.M is that in Spain they pronounce the name  as if it's all one word, not three initials like we do in English.

Where I stay has no relevance.   You have stated that you think they are 'shite.'   I asked why you have that opinion?

Is it poor musicianship on their behalf?  Do you think they cannot play their instruments?  Is it the timbre of the lyrics to their songs?  What does 'shite' actually mean to you and why?   You surely must have a reason for your opinion.   Share it with us.

I am wondering how a band that has been around since the late 60's  comes under your general mantle of 'shite.'

Because everything Ive ever heard from them sounds shite.

Sorry I've not had time for the thesis you seem to be looking for, but despite your obvious sense of self importance, this is only a football messageboard and folk really dont have to justify their opinion to you.

Ipso facto the Eagles are shite.
