I do not see why the interest in Lewis Ferguson.  For a period my son was coached alongside him and Aaron Pressley. I thought that interest in him in Scotland was due to who he was rather than ability.

Ferguson's a brilliant young player and will progress further.

He gets booked a lot too, suggesting he is constantly involved, otherwise totally agree

Perhaps it's because the players around him are inadequate leading him to do so much?

The clouded judgement on here is funny.

The number of folk who can’t see someones ability because they don’t like them

A lot of people didn't think Kingsley was good enough before he came.  Under rate a lot of players at other teams.  McGinn a prime example of a player people suggested wasn't good enough for our team.

Completely agree.

Ramsay has not been signed by Liverpool to be in their first team squad at the age of 18 for a reason. Lewis Ferguson has talent and there is a reason a few clubs want him. If they played for another team that was not the Old Firm, Hibs or Aberdeen then people would be saying we should sign them.

Ferguson is a good player for sure, just the fee that surprises me. Not done that well against us, which I would imagine most are basing opinion on.

A valid point too, but more credit I would say. Its only the last 16 months Aberdeen regressed markedly to balance that, he was part of a consistent team if unspectacular

I genuinely think he's a standout for them and haven't seen regression in his game.

Yeah, he's carried on when his team couldn't.

Hopefully he fecks off and the decline continues.  They look to be actively trying to get ££ this summer.

Yeah, I fully agree. I was shocked at how he stepped up from Hamilton and believe he will do the same again when he next moves on.

Lots of energy and power in his game. Despite the sheep being shite last year he was the only one who I felt was a threat.

Reports in Italy have suggested Bologna and Brentford have now agreed an initial fee of £14.5 million, which could rise to £17.25 million with add-ons.

Speaks to the fact that Ferguson is world class at falling over, perhaps?!

Indeed, was McGinn not the most fouled player in the EPL since Grealish warmed City’s bench?

He never gave out a long term deal to a player as good as Jota.
Hope third placed Highland league dwelling Brechin aren’t doing long term deals either 😆.

Good luck to him.  He's about Kilmarnock level though.

They won a friendly 2-1 today with him scoring both so off to a good start.

Gabriel Jesus signs for Arsenal.

£45M.

Could end up being a cracking signing for them.

I don't see it with him either, he doesn't have a lot of pace over the ground either. Scores a lot of penalties (unless up against Gordon)!

I have no grounds to doubt Pep, but £150M on him and Grealish is scandalous.

They are nowhere near the standard of city.

Phillips is perfect for how city play, incredible workrate, in possession he drops just in front of the central defenders (effectively making a defensive diamond with the keeper and CH's) allowing the full backs to push on while playing the ball quickly into wide forward areas, out of possession he closes down well, wins the ball back quickly by either getting onto the opposition ball carrier or by making interceptions. He'll be an excellent replacement for Fernandinho

Is he going to play instead of Rodri though?

Lone Striker

Just looking at the outs and ins for each SPL club so far.  Rangers one is intriguing - bringing in 3  16 y.o. lads from other club academies.

Bailey Rice from Motherwell,   Cammy Cooper from Partick, and  Keiron Willox from ICT.        Seems they still believe their academy can produce top-class first team players.      Perhaps its the Nathan Patterson  financial process they're trying to follow ?

Are we doing something like that too ?    @Footballfirst   ?

We do look at released youngsters, primarily from the OF clubs. We gave trials to several such players over the past year but have only retained Adam Forrester and Rocco Friel.  I don't think that there are many instances of us looking to sign players from other clubs on a full time contract just as they turn 16 though. If we did that then there would be compensation payments to pay.
