He's pretty much solid at the back, very hard working, can slot in where he needs to, and is dangerous in attack. Exactly what you want from a defender. Young Player - Ellis Simms is only 21. I'd have to give it to him. He has offered us a totally different outlet up front which has been very much needed. Signing of the Season - Barrie McKay. Just about everything creative we do goes through him. Goal of the Season - Pick any of Kingsley's free kicks, they have all been superb. Match of the Season - Hearts 5-2 Dundee United. Both teams just decided that there was no point in defending and played a totally open, free flowing game. I've not always been his biggest fan but he's been brilliant this season and it's no coincidence that our worst run was when he was injured. Young Player of the season - Don't really want to give it to a loan player (would be Simms) so Atkinson? He's shown plenty promise and while there's a lot to his game that needs improved upon I think he'll end up being a fantastic player for us. Signing of the Season - Barrie McKay. Not always involved enough but his assists have been so important to our season. Goal of the Season - Kingsley in the semi, just unreal. (Also a special mention to Woodburn's 2nd against Utd in the 5-2 game). Match of the season - 5-2 vs Utd. Just a thoroughly entertaining game of football and it game at a good time after a few iffy results. Enjoyed all the games against Utd this season. So I'll go for Woodburn, not saying he was great just a bit better than most gave him credit for. YPotY Not a lot to choose from but I'll give it to Cochrane as he was here all season. SotS - As Gordon already has award, I'll give it to McKay. (Beni if not injured would probably got it) GotS. Kingsley semi final. MotS 5-2 v Utd at home. Kingsley especially. Halkett had his doubters but I haven't heard a bad word, he'd be in line for most improved rather than Underrated. Best Player: Gordon Best Defensive outfield player: Kingsley (although its only his free kicks that edge him over Halkett) Best Attacking outfield player: Barrie Mackay. Joy to watch. Most underrated: Halliday by me - he has been very good - and Haring by a lot of people on here. Best young player: Cochrane. Best signing: Devlin. Love watching him winning tackles. And grinning. And his bromance with Beni. Favourite 5 moments: Mackay's first goal, Halkett's equaliser at Ibrox, Mackay's backheel assist for Halliday against Hibs, Souttar scoring for Scotland v Denmark (I count it as it felt like a massive moment for him after another serious injury... and I was there) and Gordon's ridiculous double save. Best goal: Kingsley v St Mirren joint with Kingsley v Hibs Favourite game: 5-2 v United. Player of the Season - Not a difficult one this. Craig Gordon. Underrated player of the season - Tricky one. I'm going to vote for Beni Baningime. When he got injured the first time, there were people saying the midfield was just as good without him. It wasn't. Young player of the season - Not a lot of candidates for this award. It has to be Ellis Simms. Signing of the season - Barrie McKay. He provided a creative spark that the team was badly missing. Goal of the season - Stephen Kingsley at Hampden. Match of the season - Beating St Mirren 4-2 in the Scottish Cup QF. Both teams going at each other and some quality goals. It had a bit of everything. Underrated Kingsley because it was no contest apparently. Young player, we don't have many, Simms made the greatest impact late on got better all the time, but I think Beni is still young enough to get this one. Signing, Barrie McKay, someone I was not sure about, but dazzled and assisted from the moment he stepped on the pitch. Shame his season ended with a rare flop. Match, St Mirren, struggling for a team it was a proper cup tie that swung.
