Aye the tactics were shite but you need characters, fight and desire and unfortunately we had nothing.

You need to be brave, try and create, bust your guts.

Get to feck

What a surprise the arseholes are out quickly

Halkett, Souttar, Boyce and Devlin were struggling for fitness, as the game went on their lack of gametime started to show. Boyce going off was a turning point, losing a 2nd so quickly ended it

Nielson was 30 minutes away from true legend status, take your negativity and ram it

Absolute bollocks. 0 shots on goal in 120 mins is all about Neilsons defensive tactics. Contain contain contain instead of having a ****ing go. Embarrassing stuff.

You're best not getting worked up about it, and don't bite to the Hibees on here.

You'll just end up getting banned, which is what they're after.

Sad behaviour but entirely expected by them

That team sheet is exactly what I hoped for, the Simms chance is 1inch of being magical, Rangers had very few chances before the goals as well.

I'm gutted but FFS they have 5x our budget and we ran them close

How do you hit the post if you don't have any shots on goal.

You think that performance was as good as it could have been?

I don't believe it was tactics at all that lost us the game

They are fast as f...especially on the break

We sat in and pressed getting men behind the ball and then using Simms and Boyce as an outball to break

First half it worked to a degree

Problem was second half Boyce was obviously struggling and when he came off it left Simms who at that point was getting double marked out the game

No out ball and we were hemmed in completely

FFS - if we had came out and pressed and attacked they would have probably hit us on the break and scored way more goals than they did

I'm as gutted as anyone but we lacked personnel options for the tactic. We couldn't bring anyone else on and who could hold the ball up in their half allowing the likes of McKay to get on the ball.

Hitting the post is not a shot on target. It’s that simple.

What’s this bollocks about the difference in budgets! It’s a cup final ffs.  We didn’t even try to win that game.  Not good enough from the players or neilson

Fella, we are all disappointed at the result but when you don’t work their goalie and allow a back line who had ran round for 120 minutes in 35 degree heat one of the easiest afternoons they have had for a long time, maybe you have to ask a question about what we had set out to do.

That does not make people Hibs fans or is it a comfort blanket for you to think that they are.

Boyce going off was a body blow to our game plan. Crucial player for us.

Absolutely 100%. Some of the comments on this thread is baffling to say the least

Far too much common sense being used. You'll be getting a warning for not putting boot into club, players and management.

Not much you can do when Rangers tactics just work better and they have mountains more fitness - soon as they started pressing our LBs and RBs every time they had the ball they pretty much clipped the wings of every attack we hoped to try (it’s not like we have much midfield to fall back on when this goes wrong).

Nowhere near Neilson’s fault…

It’s not a shot on target. The goal is the bit between the white things.

It needs more than Forrest from Livingston to make the step up.

Honestly what was plan A today and what was plan B when plan A went belly up?

Gutted and hurting, but that today was awful.

We fell short and we were never winning that game. That said, bringing Halliday on for Boyce was a dreadful substitution and clearly showed we had no intent of going to  try and win the game.

Absolutely clueless. To get to back line, you need to get past their forwards and midfield. They changed half their team, then brought fresh players on for extra time.

Their squad bigger and better than ours.

That's why they hardly lose any games in Scotland, other than to Celtic, and got to s final in Europe

Jeez, it isn't difficult to understand.

Awful.  He couldn’t motivate them but players share the blame too.

Ok, we kept in the game until half time but did he go in and say we need to go and win? Change a little, add impetus?

No, it was safe shite “hoping” something came off.

I did, and what I would call the target/goal is the bit between the posts, not the posts. But that’s my opinion.

When you look at stats, stats say that we had zero shots on goal/target so I guess the experts think that as well

Your right, we should have forced Boyce to carry in playing, even if he couldn't move because he was injured.

Who was the sub that was going to make the difference?

Our squad simply isn't strong enough when key players are injured.

He didn't have the players IMO. Boyce miles off it fitness wise, and no meaningful replacement.

Its a sore one, but Robbie and the team have done well. I think against any other side outside the OF we'd have won. Its just one of those shitty things.

Tactics were shite today. Performance was ok in first half and we looked knackered in the second half. Didn't even look like scoring today.

Anyone that thinks the tactics were working until Boyce went off are having a laugh.

We didn't press their back 4 at all the whole game.

They overloaded the wide areas and it was 2v1 because Boyce and McKay didn't track back.

We were lucky to even get to extra time.

We will not win a major trophy with Neilson in charge.

Golden chance today and he blew it.
