Can't believe it's been 10 years already, feels like yesterday. Still the most nervous I have ever been in a build up to a game. Should have known better than that though, we absolutely own that midden of a club.

One of the best days of my life. Just amazing drinking beer and champagne in the players lounge after the game, even went outside for a cigar with Paulo, when the crowds died down. Goosebumps thinking about it all.

At a footbal match anyway. On the tv coverage, when King Rudi stands on the table, you can see the tache in the background, face like he's licked piss off a nettle. Wonderful, just wonderful stuff.

 

Only gripe, it really should have been 10.

 

I'd have kept at them, same pace and aggression for the first hour, see where we are, then drop the pace. Still, absolutely fantastic day.

Here comes McGowan deadly from a yard!

 

The Hearts fans are dancing to Avicii's beats,

The Hibs fans magically transform into seats,

The ball comes to Skacel and the Hearts are Rampant,

There was no one in doubt that the boy was a talent!

 

Hampden erupted "There's only one Pat Fenlon",

He was as happy as Griffiths is handsome,

Then made a gesture with left and right hand,

 

Soon followed Kujabi to sit in the stand,

Final whistle blows to a deafening sound,

O'Connor's medal gets thrown to the ground,

 

Zal climbs up the steps with a tear in his eye,

Turns to the Hearts fans and lifts the cup to the sky!

The Hearts win the cup for the 3rd time I've seen,

There's no one alive from when the ribbons were green,

 

The Edinburgh derby saw its biggest game,

For the Hibees that followed a lifetime of shame!

They cling to a game with 2 points up for grabs,

It was so long ago only seen by our dads,

 

Remember one thing in the late lonely hours,

You may have scored 7 but the city is ours.

Paulo Sergio has revealed his Hearts retirement dream as he sent a good luck message ahead of the Scottish Cup Final.

The Jambos are at Hampden to face Rangers on Saturday, 10 years on from Sergio’s side lifting the trophy in 2012 after destroying rivals Hibs 5-1

The Portuguese is back in Edinburgh this weekend and will appear at an event in Tynecastle’s Gorgie suite on the eve of the showpiece occasion.

Sergio hopes to be at the game this weekend and wished Robbie Neilson all the best.

And while many Jambos may have plans to spend their post-work days golfing on the Algarve, Sergio admitted he wants to come the other way when he finishes coaching, to take his seat in the Gorgie ground on a regular basis.

I particularly liked the tetchy exchange where one poster asks why another was predicting a Hibs win?

The reply was a classic example of that incomprehensible Hobo optimism: “because I always predict Hibs will win”.

Humans tend to draw conclusions from, and therefore learn lessons from, experiences. Not if you’re a Hobo, it would seem.
