Gordon - 6 - Not at fault for the goals

Smith - 4 - Poor defending contributed to two goals

Kingsley - 5 - Tangled up with Smith giving them a free header. Not his best game

Sibbick - 4 - Cannot start next week

Haring - 7 - MoM. Peach of a finish

Cochrane - 6 - Probably our best defender in a shocking defensive performance. Still can't cross the road though

McKay - 6 - Not his day but still the only player who looked capable of creating something

Devlin - 4 - One good tackle amongst a constant giveaway of possession

Simms - 5 - At least he looked like he cared

Boyce - 2 - We need him next week. Fingers crossed

Mackay-Steven - 4 - Hopefully his last appearance in maroon

Subs:

Ginnelly - 4 - Poor

Atkinson - 4 - Will start next week

Souttar - 2 - Meh

Halliday - 2 - Meh

Halkett - 1 - Training exercise

Weak people and scaredy cats appearing all over today.

Agree it should be free for a training exercise.

Boring thread. Objective was to get through the game giving minutes to those who needed them with no injuries which obviously excluding Boyce worked. Neilson made that pretty clear pre match.

Dead rubber move on.

Do you think we will suddenly improve massively next week?

I don’t I’m afraid

Do I believe that having a crowd that’s in to the game knowing it’s a cup final rather than sitting in silence knowing it’s a dead rubber will help? Yes.

Do I believe that these players have been nursing themselves through the last 3 games to ensure they make it to the cup final? Yes.

In short yes I do.

👏👏

only thing I’d maybe disagree about is Boyce, again far too slow in thinking what to do when he receives the ball. Few big decisions for the management to make next week as I think this game is coming a few weeks to soon for a few out there today. Maybe fit bit rusty and not match fit. Hopefully one big game left from a few tired legs 👍

It’s unfortunate he’s injured because you obviously feel sorry for anyone missing a cup final. I agree that his firm has been questionable over the last few weeks but he does still have something about him that’s a bit of an X factor.

Big decisions, big week but good decisions to be made.

Lone Striker

No need to give points ratings in a match like this - however it should be a matter of concern for Robbie and the players how much better Rangers youngsters were at passing &  moving forward than we were.

If this is what having a colts team playing every week does to prepare your youngsters for 1st team football, we definitely need one too.  Hate to say it, but they had some right good young players today.

Neilson said he was fielding a strong team to win the game. He wanted to carry momentum into the final.

We were trounced by Rangers Youths - What has that done to our confidence?

‘Rangers youths’ 😂😂😂

Arfield, Davies, Ramsey was their midfield

McLaughlin in nets is 4th best in the league

Balogun is a nigerian international and plays plenty

Itten cost more than our entire squad

Amad is 19 but cost 40m!!

Shite result, yes. But lets not exaggerate

Lowry, Devine, Sands and King started.   Then 5 other laddies came on to replace older players.    Its not the result that's concerning.

You can pose the question whether we have enough players who’ve got the bottle for next week and who can find more courage in the heat of a cup final….

If we are to believe the last few games has been about measured performances because we are going to turn up next week and be an animal…. Let’s see it then.

That’s no strictly true. What it did show that Rangers have a very good squad and some very good young players.

Sure Celtic beat us 5-0 at Parkhead the week before the 2012 final.

Calm down.

Seasoned professionals getting rag dolled by third team kids is what happened today so we have no chance of improving enough to beat a full strength Hun team. Imo

Did any body actually notice that we were sitting off them on purpose and trying to avoid injuries because that is what it looked like to me and I’m glad we did

Where we are at is in a European group, pumped the hammer throwers oot again in the SC and will walk out for the Final. You sound like you should be in your bed next week 👍

I have no expectations but the level folk have to go to milk it.

I thought today was useful.

Souttar, Halkett, and Devlin got some valuable playing time before the final.

GMS did not do enough to merit a start next week.

Sibbick did fine when playing centre half.

Smith is off the pace and a bench place for him.

Atkinson another weak game…bench for him.

Can see us playing  4 4 2 next week.

Ridiculous comment.

Next week is a national cup final.

Today was a pre season friendly.

I may well be in my bed next week as I’ve been to unwell to attend many games this year.

It was a bad performance all round but next week will be very different, I wouldn't put today down as any marker for next Saturday.

I hope your heath improves along with your positivity. My club has arrived at the final.on the back of a win against the Hibs. Sweet as ****. We may lose next week but the alternative wss watching them in it. It's all good.

The game was meaningless and we had a team with no balance.

I am expecting us to win next week.  We will play very differently.

It’s really easy to be massively negative on social media, then if things go wrong they can say I told you so and lord it over those who challenged them, win and the stock answer is I’m so pleased to be wrong I’m as happy as you, then throw some abuse about stating folk are sad and should enjoy the win…. Rinse and repeat. Happens on this site constantly.

This. Do people on here seriously believe we will suddenly turn it on next Saturday because today counted for nothing? Utter nonsense! We put out a strong team against (and I'm being kind) a "weakened" Rangers. I dread to think what their 1st team will fo to us. You can't just turn it on and off when mood takes you.

Ginnelly has no football ability, but he does have raw pace. Too often he has the defender beaten and then he will turn back.

Neither player is good enough for next season.
