You didn't expect The Libertarian Party to be keen on chucking benefits around willy-nilly, did you? 😜

No Ofcourse not ! But I thought they might at least have a more viable / humane option regarding the welfare state than leaving things to charity ? Mind you not sure what other alternative there would be ?

Jambo-Jimbo

The usual suspects in my ward, SNP, Labour, Tories, Lib Dems, Greens, Independent and the Vanguard Party (had to look them up), seems they are pro Union, pro Brexit, basically an extreme Tory in all but name, imo.

The 3 councillors in my ward are, 1 each from the SNP, Tory & Independent, I don't see it changing from this, this time around.

The Independent was probably elected as one of the big party candidates.

Nope, he stood and was elected as an Independent at the last election.

I've ended up not bothering going to vote.

I think the braindead will still return the SNP/Labour clowns back into running Edinburgh

While the intelligentsia are happy to sit at home and wait to be told who's in charge, let others take the responsibility.

Sounds a lot like Scottish unionists actually!

Done my vote earlier. Voted the Lib Dem candidates as the current council are a joke and I certainly wasn't voting for the Tories. I'm not sure who The Family Party are but I'd bet they're nutjobs.

Think The Worker's Party was another option but I've not heard of them either.

Got to agree - if you don't vote then don't complain if you don't like the result.

Unlikely I'd have thought.  Maybe in Edinburgh for tactical reasons but elsewhere I can't see it.

Think you must have misheard.  Are you sure that it was not the three Poles exiting the voting station said that they all voted Tory?

Had a really hard couple of shifts the last 2 days and can hardly get my erse of the sofa.

I also got the Spring booster yesterday, so don't know if that's having an effect on my energy levels.

You're correct though, I've no grounds for complaint if I'm not voting

They will if no-one bothers to vote against them. ;) I fail to get the logic of your decision here, Nucky.

So you should. Spaghetti carbonara has no asparagus, and also, no pancetta in it. What you had, was spaghetti with asparagus and pancetta, most likely with cream and scrambled eggs through it. If you don't believe me, try telling an Italian what you had and watch their reaction.

The asparagus I'll concede, but carbonara originally had pancetta in it, and it is often used as a substitute for the guanciale (but not admittedly by purists). Below is one of the first recipes for carbonara, published by La Cucina Italiana in 1954 and containing pancetta. The article also says that nowadays guanciale should be used. Tastes change over time and purists often take advantage to stamp their authority on recipes and tell us what we should and shouldn't include in them. Food fascists in a way. ;)

Stop the risk of getting stranded on Cramond Island. Also the little rowboat ferry across the Almond at Cramond Village that we sadly lost a few years ago.

Cramond ferry connection on course for return

PLANS for what is believed to be the shortest ferry trip in the UK taking passengers across the River Almond have been recommended for approval by city planners.

The historical boat link which once connected Cramond with the Dalmeny Estate in Edinburgh is set to make a return with work likely to begin next summer.

A full-time boatsman will use a chain ferry to transport up to 12 people at a time across the stretch of water.

Ambitious plans submitted to the local authority by Cramond Community Council also feature lifts on both banks allowing passengers to be lowered to water level – a new jetty and pontoons will also be installed.

Another failure - didn’t happen - SNP oot !:look:

Tory Party splattered all over Westminster for the first time since 1964. Socialism spreads across London while the spectre of far right Nationalism infests the Parochials.

75 of 146 councils are in down south, just over halfway. The Tories have lost 124 councillors so far, and lost control of 6 councils.

England's dogs will sleep a little easier tonight.
