It isn't hatred of Walker

He has had his time. He can sign for Dundee or Livi. Not good enough for Hearts.

I don’t seriously know how any Hearts fan could harbour ‘hate’ for Jamie Walker. The boy is a Hearts fan, he’s often saved us from the bench and often been a key player for us.

Hes reached a stage where he’s no longer good enough even for our bench, particularly next season where our starting quality is going to put better far players than him on the fringes.

No one ‘hates’ the laddie surely TF.

Not a chance in hell. Time to move on and wish him the best of luck. We looking at players better than what we have. Maybe a couple of projects. But mantra is they have to be better.

JW is twice the player of GMS and Woodward. A Hearts Fan and a Goalscorer. To say he isn’t good enough for our ‘squad’ is ridiculous. Be delighted to see a fit JW back at Hearts next season.
people saying his best days are behind him? He’s only 28 years old! his prime is in-front of him

You plainly did not watch him last year in the championship. He slowed everything down and really not the same player he was as when he left.

Don't mind walker very good squad option to have, will probably sign a cheap deal to stay, all in all good deal for both parties.

We could of used him coming of the bench in games that are draws or losing, say what you want about him but he scores goals, nobody is saying make him a first team starter he has to earn that.

We're already looking at better players to bring into a team that Walker couldn't get into over the past couple of years. Walker lost his spark a long time ago. Sad but true.

He isn't good enough for our squad. That may be a sad reality but it's reality nonetheless. His best days are behind him.  Injuries have taken their toll. His prime was about 5 or 6 years ago.  That's a shame for someone who's only 28, but wishing it wasn't the case doesn't make it not the case.

I wish him all the best and hope he gets a contract at a club where he can play regularly, enjoy himself, and earn a decent wage, but quite frankly, anyone who wants him back at Hearts next season either has very little ambition for us for next season or is completely delusional about what he's capable of these days. You seem to be firmly in the latter camp!

Walker has never returned to the level he was at before his surgery. Don’t think he is capable of playing week in week out. His time at Hearts has come to an end…good luck whatever he does next.

He came off the bench against Aberdeen early in the season and was completely anonymous when we could have done with a goal. He's managed a grand total of three goals in League Two.  Say what you like about him, he doesn't score goals very often these days, and is no longer anywhere near the standard we need.

He’s offered to stay on much reduced terms and an acceptance that he will be a squad player. I still don’t think we will want to keep him however.

A goal against Scunthorpe isn’t going to change anything. Finished at Hearts, thankfully.

Do one. Last word is scandalous you are not a true Hearts fan.

Losers mentality.

We are above thinking about using players coming on when we're losing or drawing.

Squad full of winners is where we're going.

If he wasn’t currently contracted and had never played for Hearts before would he be getting suggested as a player for us?

Always thought it was great to watch Tommy Walker’s great nephew playing for us and he was excellent first time around.

Second time around he started great up at Aberdeen then got his leg broken.

His Hearts career has fizzled out and it’s time up now, sadly.

No thanks, been proven time & time again he’s not consistent enough & usually goes missing in big games. Good luck to him but we need better

Watched him v Newport a couple of weeks ago. Far too slow for us now. And he won’t get fitter playing in that league. Didn’t stand out, missed a one v one as well.

Thankful that we’re getting a guy off the wage bill that isn’t good enough to be at Hearts and offered very little since returning to the club.

We’ll replace him with someone better and he’ll be off to Raith or something.

Another goal yesterday and another MoTM performance.

we must bring him back for next season. Would be a great addition to the squad and would feel like a new player with his fitness back to previous levels and some games/goals under his belt in a pretty tough league.

no brainer for me.

Apologies but not mom according to bantams fans forum and they matter more than sponsors who pick who they want he’s too injury prone now and past his best

No chance, he’s done at Hearts, wouldn’t get a start here. Next couple of seasons is Barrie Mckays era and Jamie’s had too much time out injured to play 2nd fiddle. He will move on and good luck to him. In hindsight Levein shouldn’t have brought him back.

Spot on . Was a poor decision to bring him back. Good luck to him elsewhere.

Start a thread and slate members of our existing squad as a justification to bring him back

Umm no

It’s a perfectly reasonable question to ask.  I don’t read every thread -

how many threads have been taken up slagging off Boyce for example?

if you don’t like it - don’t reply / post. Simple!

I have better things to do on a Sunday than opine over Jamie Walker.  Sadly he is now only Championship class.

Jamie has been a bench warmer for half a career, and injured the other half,  he’s not interested in bench warming.

And he’s not going to be a starter here because Barrie McKay plays his position and is a vastly better player.

So some folks need to get it in their thick skulls. it is absolutely crystal clear Walker has played his last game for Hearts. And done well in the shop window, it was good from the club to let him go on loan for the game time and shop window himself for the st Johnstones, Raith, Partick or killie type clubs which will be his next move. All the best to him

My prediction - Walker to Falkirk with mcglynn. Go on a journey to get them back to the premier and be a main stay. That’d be a good way for Jamie to see out his career good luck to him.
