Celtic and Rangers games full dress rehearsal for final. Other three to suss out any possible debates on starters or wild card eg Kirk. Maybe the likes of Ginnelly a bit more hand time.

Yeah, I held off until this afternoon In the hope they’d open lower tier. No doubt they will tomorrow now I’ve bought in Jerry Kerr.

Souttar back in training and ready to start running next week according to Robbie.  Halkett to see another specialist for assessment, so his participation is very much in the balance.

looks like i jumped the gun on the Halkett situation

Look no offence to Robbie as he has done the job this year.

But FFS last 5 games are not worth a sook. Should have the subs bench and youngsters jockeying for first team spot.

Look old form aside as be good to beat them. I don’t give a shit about Dundee Utd, Motherwell or Ross County. We have to save players for cup and face no more injuries. He’s going in all wrong IMO. We’ve got feck all to lose.

I have to think the "a few injuries" will startlingly include 2/3 of our usual starting players.

Important to maintain momentum and feel good factor going into cup final and summer. Play best 11 that are fit and to maximum.

What Robbie says at the presser and what happens for the game occasionally don’t compute. I expect a few regular starter players to be missing. Not in the know, just think they’ll manage game time now. Having said that, we have a strong squad, I still expect to beat them.

There is a matter of professionalism in this relating to respect for our oponents.  The results make no difference to our league position but they are of huge importance to the teams we are playing.

I also think that picking up as many points as possible will look better on the final table.

In saying all that, the two points Dundee United deprived Hibs from securing at the Giro had a major bearing on placing them in the bottom 6.  I won't burst into tears if we lose.

If people think Robbie will rest player's because of the leagues done..... your crazy. These boys are choking to play every week just now and definitely wouldn't accept a rest at this point in time. Look at what the liverpool squad is doing just now. Twice a week etc in massive games.... they're lucky with injuries aye...  not a massive squad vying for a start every game...

Yes we have a small squad, I believe in Karma. Karma happens when everything has went against you for so many reasons...... then

3rd guaranteed (group stage next season)

3rd final in 4 years (Definitely more winnable than getting Celtic again btw)

We play rangers at home the week before the final... they potentially have a final 3 days before in Spain.... it's happening.

The cup will be ours.

As will 3 points at the weekend

I agree.  I do think he’ll shuffle the pack a little to manager the injuries but I’m a great believer in momentum, players keeping on top of their sharpness in mind and body.

We need to get away from this mindset as a club of writing off matches. It seems RN thinks that way too.  Every game counts toward something better.

Every game goes towards tightening up the mentality and wanting to win, players wanting to play better and feeling committed to doing the best job they can.  Any slip in mentality is worse than anything else, imo, but I do see a good one in our squad.  Having a strong will to win may just come into play for those games we are missing key players.

The fans paying good money to go on Sunday will give a sook and expect us to play our strongest team available. Debut 4 nailed it above, we need momentum and a winning mentality at the club. Starting with Tannadice. Looking forward to it.

Would love to see us get at least 64 points as hobos finished 3rd last year on 63 so that would be 7 points from 15 left.

So maximum points tomorrow and next week then 1 point from the last 9 would be fine.

Last time we finished 3rd was in 2015/16 on 65 points. Would be great to match that.

Had a wee look back:

Hibs finished 4th in 2017/18 on 67 points.

Killi finished 3rd in 2018/19 on 67 points.

Mind you, Well finished 3rd in 2019/20 on only 46 points. What a dreadful season that was!

We can rest our best players for the last 2 games. Still plenty of time to go before the cup final.

Into them Hearts. Show this charity walking shower no quarter!

Utd 1 - Hearts 3

I don’t think we should be playing 11 kids but I would suggest the likes of Woodburn, Ginelly, Mceneff, Taylor Moore, Kirk, GMS should be starting. They need game time, they need fitness and a chance to prove themselves ahead of a huge cup final.

After being kicked at every opportunity last weekend against the physical Edinburgh team the likes of McKay and Haring should def be rested.

Main concern for this week is getting through without any more injuries and the way things went against Dundee Utd last time, not sure we've got the depth to handle it at the moment.

Agree. That is one reason why I think it is a rsiky strategy working with such as small squad.

Ok, I understand Robbie's views on this but when you get injuries like we have lately then we struggle to put a team on the pitch with players playing in their preferred positions.

A back four for me as well. Although i would play Gordon in goal and perhaps Kirk up front.

I agree, that would be the kind of formation I would like to see in the run in to the final. It would give some of the fringe players a chance to stake a claim.

I'd go with the following:

Gordon

Devlin

That should do it.  Maybe take Cam off after an hour, just want to manage him back to action.

I think Robbie will field a professional team, and he'll definitely manage tactics to go for the win, but I also think the definition of "fit to play" will be and should be a lot narrower.

Anyone with a niggle should not be starting. Anyone with a knock should not be on the bench. Players playing with small injuries are more likely to get big injuries. Sometimes the game is worth taking the risk. For the next month, it is very much not, particularly as we're in a tier with five other clubs who are all desperate to pick up points and will be throwing bodies around.

Neither do I particularly!

Put Gordon in instead of Stewart and it looks a lot better immediately.

Giving Sibbick and Moore a few games will help us to see if either of them can step us to the challenge. I really hope that Sibbick will in particular.

If Smith is fit he could play instead of Atkinson or Moore, or we could play a back 3.

The front four all have ability but haven't done enough consistently to deserve a place in our best team. Simms, Boyce and Mackay will all be in the Cup final team barring injury so the other 4 are playing for one place at most. If we could get them all playing well and competing for places, it means we will be as strong as possible going to Hampden.

This is the quandary, I foresee the league not being fully settled till the last day. And it's feasible, even likely, that every last one of the five will have a need for a point/points on the last day.

It's going to be a brutal run in. All of them are scrapping for potential million of income. While Hearts are in this peculiar situation of being able to sort of sit back and watch it play out.

Win, loose or draw for me in all honesty. It is great to be in this position. Keep our key players fit but no doubt for Neilson one eye on the final. Gino, GMS, Woodburn, Moore, Kirk etc should start next few games then get Souttar, Devlin (hopefully Halkett) slowly back. 🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻

Have to agree generally. Not in favour of going all out for the win with our strongest 11 just to maintain momentum if it ends up with key players out injured for the cup final. Let the 5 or 6 behind them scrap it out for a start and a chance of a trophy to their name.

EDIT: Sibbick has to start IMO, needs game time just in case we need him for the final.

My phone app calls our division the Premiership Championship daivision and the other one the Premiership Relegation division.

Is that their actual titles? I hope so.  I like it.

Anyway I cant bring myself to pick a Hearts defeat or even a draw so I'll pick a weakened Hearts side to win 2-1 and no injuries.

A one goal loss and no injuries would suit me just fine. No routs, please, but points not necessary.

Dundee are playing at home today.

Not sure why they couldn't have arranged the fixtures differently to avoid the clash.

And not sure why our game was the one bumped to Sunday.

Will have to get used to it for next season but it will be weird not having many games on Saturday at 3.

A great opportunity to rest players the next 5 games and keep us fresh for the final. Give the young lads a chance as well.

I wouldn't be playing Simms, mckay, Kingsley, Gordon, Boyce, cochrane or Haring more than twice in the 5 games.

It's all about the final now!
