HeartsandonlyHearts
Mt Ida Fiddlerontheroof Good Boy Bobby I honestly have no idea. Hope it’s on TV here. Remember the first time my Dad let us kids bet on it. 72 or 73. I picked the horse Crisp. Think he came second to Red Rum. Always loved the National. Victorian
How on earth is Minella Times being backed into favourite? It's only had two very poor outings over 2m4f since winning last year. Fair enough you can work it at home for distance and stamina but nothing like National distance over those fences.

Probably because it's ridden by Blackmore and trainer is De Bromhead. You can't count them out. I reckon Snow Leopardess becomes first mum to win national. I respect why you can feel that James., especially after there were two horse fatalities in the last couple of outings after nearly a decade without any. But. Consider. As an example when i won my trophy's in the ring, some people said it was barbaric grown men assaulting each other. But i never had such a rush as when i competed. These horses will have the same adrenalin - its what they are bred for. I think the real cruelty is the failed horses that get shipped to France for the Abattoir, and, in connection, what they do to retired greyhounds. They did make the race safer, the recent two deaths show it still isn't safe enough and that should be addressed, but believe me, you can't make a horse do something it doesn't want to. Malinga the Swinga
Some way to go into retirement. Cracking ride from Waley-Cohen and gives massive boost to Ahoy Senior for next year's race. I heard the horse broke it’s pelvis and was put down later lots of horses recover from a broken pelvis and can even race again this horse was 8 year old so arguably the pelvis injury was not 100% clear at the time whether it was treatable hence the reason not making the decision there and then - unfortunately it proved not to be treatable areas like this is where anti-horse racing / anti-grand national debaters let themselves down - there are plenty areas to raise very genuine concerns about and whether the industry is / can properly address them without trying to shoe-horn incidents into the argument where the particular context of the incident can be defended which helps to dilute some of the more fundamental points they have
