50 50 on any future transfer fee, 750k up front. Fair deal for Simms, everyone a winner

Part of me wants us to have Paid £1m +  for Simms, then secure Ronan and then Shankland for about £500k each.

Swing our big tadgers about.

Really stick it up the likes  Aberdeen and Hibs as, they watch with jealousy.

The media and the likes will come out with all sorts of shite to play it down.

I don’t think the club would’ve budgeted for a waiting list on season tickets tbf either so that may free up some extra dough

50/50 is too much. Imagine he eventually goes for £10M and we have to hand over half... :(

I'd go 750k up front, 250-300k performance related add-ons, and 20% sell-on.

Agree with THD if he goes for 5 million even, its a fantastic deal for everyone.

Could easily hit 20. Once he settled looked impressive. A lot of assists too

Hard to say. He keeps defenders busy leaving more room for others and makes good runs. 10 maybe, 12?

Football Manager type wishlist that would guarantee third.

Cedric Kipre

Dylan Levitt or Connor Ronan

Marco Tilio

That would be a bit much as we would be paying him a hefty wage as well. First refusal for Everton to match any bid Hearts choose to accept for Simms in the future or a 15-20% sell on fee should Simms move to another club would be fair for all involved

Aye only if we pony up more than £1m

This a striker who has proven himself at U23 level in the EPL, proven at Blackpool, proven to a degree in the SPL.

He has great potential and has Championship clubs interested.

Everton have money issues.

Strikers are expensive - you don’t a cut price deal on someone like Simms unless there is something in it for Everton.

I would happily not see a penny for him when he leaves if we had him kicking a ball for us for the next three years in all honesty

Got the build of an EPL centre half. Hope his football brain is that sort of standard too.

Hopefully! 😊

3 hatrick against the hobbits on the 7th August then picks up the obligatory cruciate ligament injury :whistling:

If that's the only deal then I'll go with that gladly.

If we are serious about maintaining third and consistently getting Europe we need to spend some decent money.

Get the cash splashed

Speculate to accumulate

Tbf, it may be the only way to avoid big upfront fees

If Simms does well for us and we get £5m for him it will have been a brilliant deal.

Rather that than he ends up in the championship for the sake of 3 or 4 months foh contributions or because we pissed Everton off with the future % fee.

We only really got to see a bit of what he is capable of in this league. The belief is now totally there with him.

Yip but if you are paying over 1 mill for him and circa 10k a week over a 3 year deal then you would be better grabbing a free transfer who is already proven and has a sell on value, pay him the 10k a week and keep all the future fee to our self

Because we have plenty and will continue to do so, that won’t be a problem 😉

Has it been reported anywhere what Championship clubs are looking at him? I'd fancy our chances if we had some kind of fee/loan deal agreed against a lot of clubs in that league. Playing and possibly scoring in European competition would enhance his stock more than playing  for a mid table Championship club.

Not if we spend the money we have.

We will be- on Conservative estimates be  about £6m better off this season than last season.

If we spend £3m more than last season we won't be in debt.

I’m sure Everton will view a season in the championship as being a better gauge of his development than a season in the SPFL (whether we agree with that or not)

Everton have posted losses of £400m over the last 4 financial years. They’ve already started clearing out players (admittedly the really high earners) but if they don’t see Simms being part of their plans, maybe a decent offer might tempt them.

Perhaps. Or perhaps they'd be happy to send him back to us because of how we looked after him last season. Only the folks at Everton will know the answer to that.

Simms, McKay, Boyce and Forest will score or assist in 45 goals easily over a season.

Add in in Shankland and make it 60

Big Jorge is good for about 10 as well.

OP suggested we should offer that. I'm saying we won't offer that. If they come back and ask for 50% then I'd actually say that's very unreasonable and is almost unheard of for that high a percentage sell-on clause.

Dunno where THD heard it but I understand that Robbie confirmed it when he said we had no chance of getting him - maybe a couple of weeks back.
