Cape Verdi and Burkina Faso have a job to do, following on from a game like that.

0-0, NAP.

80th minute, still 1-0 to Burkina Faso.

Not quite had the same quality as the other game.

Cape Verde goalkeeper with the shittest punch I have ever seen.  Ball coming down from the air, he is surrounded by 4 other Cape Verde defenders, not a Burkina Faso player within 15 yards of him, and he decides to punch it out, barely clearing the 18 yard box and just about right into the path of an opponent.

Why on earth would you not just catch it

Normal 1-0 service has been resumed.

Looking good for my bet though.  Let the anti-football continue :smuggy:

Final Group A games on Monday may be interesting.

Cameroon vs Cape Verdi

Burkina Faso vs Ethiopia

Cameroon will be after a point at least to guarantee the group win.

Cape Verdi will be desperate for a win, as will Ethiopia.

People actually watch this shite.

The only thing it has in its favour is it is football, of sorts. I was watching the game yesterday between Cameroon and Ehtiopia and actually thought Ethiopia were playing some decent football, but it all sort of fell to bits when they reached the opposition's penalty area.

Can only really hope that once it reaches the knock out stages the quality will increase substantially. It passes time until early February when the Winter Olympicsc will then take over on television, better than watching some of the endless repeats that seem to make up morning/afternoon TV, irrespective of how many channels you have access to.

Not much else to do to be honest. It's football, it's live on TV, and that's about it.

It's been entertaining at times but once the group stages are out of the way, it should improve once the smaller teams are out of the way.

It's no wonder it's been a bit crap, some of the rankings of the teams involved mean it's the equivalent of the Euros having games like Kazakhstan v Latvia, or Andorra v Lithuania in the actual tournament instead of the qualifiers.

Quarter finals onwards should see an improvement.

Senegal v Guinea on just now.

Senegal take an unbelievably shite corner, it breaks to a Guinea defender who launches it forward.  Guinea on the break, 3 against 1.  Ball is squared to the edge of the box, and instead of hitting it, player passes it to another attacker making a run into the box, who instead of hitting it, tries to pass it under the goalkeeper who makes the save, and Senegal somehow get someone in the way and block it.

Just totally shite all around, should have been 1-0 to a team who probably can't afford to miss chances like that.

Good lord.  Senegal player in the box, cuts inside, cuts back outside, does the defender on the edge of the 6 yard box, shoots.... and puts it well wide.

Honestly, this is like watching a child kick a ball, where they just swing a foot at it in blind hope instead of anything resembling control.

Cameroon will win this tournament with ease.

Senegal were the favourites pre-tournament and have been absolutely diabolical so far

Is Kamara the West a African equivalent of Smith?

Almost as bad as Wales
Population 3 million

1 million of them called Gareth Evans

And of all the Gareth Evans in the world Hibs signed the one who couldn’t play football.

Youssef En-Nesyri on the bench today for Morocco will score one or two.   Tarik Tissoudali starts, could get a goal.

3-0.

For the other match I am also going crazy and predicting three goals, 1-2 Zimbabwe.   No idea who's going to score.

😀

The last match 0-1 to Ghana.

Where did they find these national anthems?

They all sound like they're played on a 1980s casio keyboard, a kazoo and a pair of spoons.

Surely tae feck the tournament organisers could have afforded better versions.

Zimbabwe score, cracking header.   Cross, lobbed header   over the keeper.

1-1 :shockio:

Another cross, simple half volley, keeper shite.

The Zimbabwe goal was best, in fact could be a goal of the tournament.
