And the Communist parties in various eastern European countries have continued in some fashion or another since the fall of communism there, often morphing into other parties altogether, such as the Slovenian League of Communists becoming the Social Democrats. It would be highly unusual for a party such as the SNP to disappear, it will just move with the times and settle into a role which is not defined by the campaigning for independence.
