Oh! I Almost forgot!!! 😆

"When the Hearts, went up, to lift the Scottish Cup ...

YOU were there ... YOU were there ..."

(Except they were all gone by then ... listening at King's Park Station (?) as we scored our 4th and 5th).

My Hibby cousin was. 😆😆😆

Yes, we need more cultured tunes. For a total laugh, wouldn't it be appropriate to play THIS the next time we see off The Rangers at Tynie? (I did suggest it to our announcer, but got no reply).

A HUGE Twirlie as they depart. 😆

treemendous. We win as well

Preceded by 'Souness, Souness where's yer wife, Souness, where's yer wife..... ' When the second one started he was out of the dug out if I recall, and I was sure he was about to launch himself into the crowd.... 😁

We beat them that day and I’m certain the Souness chants played a big part he was absolutely livid on the touchline, pretty sure his instructions to his team weren’t exactly clear.

I mind hearing a couple of horrendous songs in the early 80s Re Johnny Doyle. IIRC he died by electrocuting himself (in his attic)

The first one was to the tune of Here We Go "Tommy Burns, Tommy Burns, so does Doyle"

The second one I can only mind a line of (I was still at primary school) and was to the tune of "Its My Party & I'll Cry If I Want To" - Its my attic and I'll fry if I want to.

To the tune of "Deck the halls"

Tommy Burns and so does Johnny, nah, nah nah, nah, nah, nah, nah nah, nah.

Bad taste, to say the least

Similar to the Eric Schaedler, bang, bang, bang stuff.

Dear o dear I cant mind that one. I was still at Primary at the time though so that is my defence. Though it is possible I wasnt at the games(s) it was sung at or I didnt hear it. The Shed could be brutal and cutting at times.

It was indeed sung. There was actually talk of Doyle signing for us before that fatal accident. That wasn’t particularly popular.

I've sung some really stupid stuff at games. Mid 80's and the bigoted orange stuff. Certainly not proud of it, maybe why I find all that shit so abhorrent now. I guess I've grown up, matured (somewhat) but ultimately realising how irrelevant it is to a football match (and life in general), or more importantly, the team I support.

Anyway, more light-heartedly, "Gorgie Wave, Gorgie Wave, Gorgie Wave!"

I agree Re the crap that a lot of us sung at the time - often without realising what it meant. The older I got the more I wanted just to sing football songs.

The Gorgie Wave chant followed by boos when the mainstand wouldnt join in :)

I pulled my boy up when he came out with some Kyle Lafferty ditty about being "Seven foot, he plays the flute".

My boy had no idea what it meant, but snowflake dad had to explain shit

My two have no interest in football which saddens me greatly as it is a great experience of shared emotions. My dad wasnt into football so I didnt have a positive parental influence at the football like your son has.

Kind of you to say I'm a positive influence!

Glad to say he is Hearts, and that's my fault/influence/noblesse oblige...

Back in the days of the shed I remember when an oppposition player got stretchered off fans would sing "Nee naw nee naw nee naw, to die a [F word associated with sectarianism] barsteward".

Growing up following Hearts was certainly a way to get you on the path to becoming a thick skinned man of the world.

I do recall Rangers fans shouting a request  ' ge'us us the Silvery Moon'  to the old shed.

Lookin' through Tommy Gemmils nose.....sung at Dens

And who can forget the lyrically challenging ' pogo pogo pogo ...pogo pogo pogo'
