He'll probably play at the weekend aswell.

Footballers seem to have the only job on the planet were you won't get the sack on this situation.

Not really.

Looking at the road he was on he must have been in some nick to have hit a tree at the side of a dual carriageway at that time of the morning when there would have been virtually zero cars on the road

So Make Some Noise..

I always think these footballer incidents offer an interesting moral debate. If this was any other role model in the community (Policeman, Priest/Minister, MP, School teacher etc etc) you'd likely see them lose their jobs as a result. But sportspersons always end up getting 'normalised' and a degree of sympathy for the pressures they have and ultimately get away with it.

Looks a very straight road, 😮

It's an absolutely arrow straight 4 lane road for over half a mile coming off that roundabout toward Broughty Ferry in a 40 zone, before it merges into normal single lanes on each side further up.  If that picture further up is the tree he hit, it's the one that's circled below:

charlieadamisatit.png

The fact he's managed that on that bit of road means he must have been absolutely ****ing steaming.

Sawdust Caesar

What will we do with the drunken player?

What will we do with the drunken player?

What will we do with the drunken player?

Early in the morning.

Way hay and up he rises,

he's got breasts of different sizes,

(I can' remember the rest)

Straight road like that he must have dozed off at the wheel.

Lucky he never killed himself, or worse, someone coming in the opposite direction.

Hopefully there'll be no leniency because of his "celebrity" status.

Sorry about this one, I was bored:

They've got Adams who drives drunk the dirty hog,
They've got a striker who wrecks rooms they call Cumdog,
McGowan proudly wears his tag,
Even the thumb he has a snag,
He asks young girls for nudes and maybe a snog.*

To the tune of Matchstick Men. We need two verses to fit all their filthy criminals in.

*Allegedly

In his defence: Its not a dual carriageway. Don’t think it’s a trunk road either.

Maybe not duel carriageway but still 2 lanes wide so not exactly a narrow lane

Hard boiled eggs and nuts

The consequences of his actions could have had a devastating impact on innocent road users and their families, seen this all too often before unfortunately, all the warnings are out there and have been for years, absolutely no excuse, throw the book at him, moron!

He’ll get the standard mandatory 1 year ban. 18 months if he has a high reading. And he’ll get a big fine.

Why he should get any more or any less than ‘Jo Public’ is beyond me

He should be treated the same as any other driver who gets caught. Where it may differ is with him being a public figure and bringing bad publicity on his employer.
When I was a kid one of my workmates was charged with a crime in Edinburgh. (Made the papers). Our employer told him if his place of work ever got mentioned in the paper up to and after his trial, he would be fired.
Maybe things have changed.

The difference being 'Joe Public' in a lot of cases can't chuck money at parasite lawyers for these kinds of things to find a loophole resulting in little or no punishment for an act that could quite easily have resulted in a fatality.

My opinion would be that if you crash whilst drink driving then it should be an automatic upgrade to dangerous driving which lifts the limit on any fine and increases the potential time in the pokey to 2 years from 6 months

Is there not mandatory minimum punishment for drunk driving in the UK?
There is where I live. No negotiation/fighting it. Minimum fine. Minimum suspension etc. If you refuse to blow you still get convicted of drunk driving. That used to be an out for people by refusing to blow they had no proof you were over the limit.
The courts here are so backed up that the mandatory suspension will probably have been served before you could get a court date to fight it anyway😂

Hope they throw the book at him.

You would be hard pushed, to find a more scummy changing room than that!

Looking to the right in that picture makes methink they will not have far to tow his car to the scrapyard 🤣🤣🤣

Near straight road 4.30 in the morning few sherbet's consumed my guess is he has dozed of at the wheel because even drunk you would  hard pressed to hit that tree.

Minimum is you lose your driving license for a year, your car insurance in the following years will also rise considerably.

There will be a fine, but not sure of the level or whether it is means tested.

It is an offence to refuse to provide a breath sample. (or blood sample if unable to provide a breath sample)

Professional and well paid sportsman getting pissed during a season completely baffles me.

Surely one of the big advantages of bringing in an internationalist who has played at EPL level is to set an example to the younger guys. Show them what you need to do to make a good career in football.
