The difference being 'Joe Public' in a lot of cases can't chuck money at parasite lawyers for these kinds of things to find a loophole resulting in little or no punishment for an act that could quite easily have resulted in a fatality.

My opinion would be that if you crash whilst drink driving then it should be an automatic upgrade to dangerous driving which lifts the limit on any fine and increases the potential time in the pokey to 2 years from 6 months

And dangerous driving can have the Sherriff make you resit your test.

Dreadful choice from Adams

Makes me wonder if it was one off or even the norm from the **** and has only just  been caught

So many alternatives

Like a hotel/taxi and so on

One reason, but no excuse, is he already knew he was not playing tonight. I think it was announced a few days ago he was out of this game.

Why?

The place he drank was full of nasties and chased him out every week.

question is "why did he keep drinking there?"

I was assuming he was too tight to get a taxi or that cars had not been invented yet. One of the two

I had a mate who would do similar - saved money on taxi's and he was a (very amateur) cross country runner.

I, on the other hand, would've boffed up said 12 pints after running about 50 yards.

That would have helped with the hangover the next day

Aye, that was the point. Who in their right mind would want to run anywhere with all that beer slopping about in their belly.

Looks a very straight road, 😮

Try getting pished out of your skull, then have another look.  I think you'll find it's not as straight as you first thought!

Dundee raise their game against us to levels no other team faces in my opinion. That includes United. The hate levels from Mcpake and a clutch of his mob are obvious. We must match that and beat them.

5-1 still fresh in his mind , no doubt.

What a joke.

Drink driving needs much tougher penalties in general. A much more shed like discussion tbf.

The Finns have the right idea. Fines are based on percentage of earnings. I seem to recall one of the top people in Nokia getting a massive fine for breaking the speed limit as his wage was massive.

He should have, of course.  It's still a punishment though.

Tough titties!! Had this incident been worse, a victim might never have got to see their family again, period!!

If that had been any normal person pleading that line, do you think the judge would have been so lenient!? Not a chance, they would be told that is just part of the consequences.
