The Mercer Takeover

Gordon - 9 - Distribution wasn't great, but another absolutely incredible performance. Won the game for us.

Smith - 2 Injured early.

Halkett - 8 Really good, composed and strong

Souttar - 7 Occasionally clumsy but solid performance.

Kingsley -7 Quality player and another good game.

McEneff - 6 Honking first half, grew into the game second.

Devlin - 6 Possibly poorest game yet. Didn't seem to like plastic pitch.

Cochrane - 6 Not a major influence on the game.

Woodburn - 1 Hooked early first half and utterly abysmal.

McKay - 7 Lots of running and lots of assists.

Boyce - 8 Led the line well and scored.

Subs

Moore - 6 Took a little while to settle, but good game.

Haring 7 - Made a huge difference in replacing the hopeless Woodburn. Surely must start next week.

Gnando - 0 Must never wear maroon again. One of the worst performances I have ever seen. Simply unbelievable

Neilson - 3 One man up front away to Livi. Started with Woodburn and McEneff who were really poor first half. Too much tinkering again. Livi were terrible and had it not been for Gordon, they would have won.

Great noisy support on a really cold day.

The Neilson line about playing one up against Livingston is wrong. We played 3 up front in a 343 (McKay, Boyce and Woodburn) and lost the midfield because of it. It became more like a 352 with an extra body in the middle when Haring came on and that shored up the midfield. He got it wrong but did so by being too attacking, not too defensive. He adapted well and that’s the sign of a decent manager.

Guanduillet minus 10. He is absolutely appalling and should be nowhere near a maroon shirt ever again. Absolutely honkingly bad player with an equally bad attitude to boot. Get rid asap

Moore gets an extra point for his "Disco Dave" run, surely

Gordon gets an additional 10 for being Gordon

Correct. The slight worry though is same happened at Ross Co earlier in season, no solidity away at a tough venue. Today was a game made for Haring and Devlin to win the midfield for us.  I do wonder if 433 or more of a 352 is the future

However nitpickery there and so much negativity on here. 5 pts to 4th, 11 ahead of Hibs, 9 ahead of Aberdeen. Not alot to moan about imo!

Bring on the the rangers.

Gordon , Halkett and Haring 8. The rest 6, Gnaduillet 4 just for getting into positions to then miss easy chances. Neilson 8 for making the change before the opposition scoredn for once. If only he'd done this at Pittodrie we might have held onto our lead, not to mention the fiasco at Motherwell. Lesson hopefully learned.

I'll go with that, McKay was MOM for me, his passing in and around the box was well above SPFL level. How long is he with us? Hope it's at least a couple of years.

Agree with this 100% and credit to RN for making the change.

Quite a number of us were crying out for a similar change at Motherwell, which never came.

It looks like he is more aware/accepting that a change of format might be needed during a game and that is promising going forward, so credit where credit is due

We cannot persist with this 523 formation - we are getting over run by hopeless sides in midfield. Need to go 433 IMO but we do need proper wingbacks to make that work to it’s optimum.

Some ridiculously high ratings when we only played in one half. Gordon and Haring apart 4s to 6s except Woodburn and Ngando 1s.
