Rooney in for Smith, Findlay in for Kingsley (who slots in at LWB) and Rudden can push Boyce. Would like to see extensions sorted for Kingsley, Gordon & Souttar too. We absolutely 100% MUST sign a RWB. Even if its just on loan. It isn't the sort of position which see's the best in Smith, infact, I'd argue it brings his biggest limitations to the fore, which isn't fair. He's a solid RB and CB, defending is his realm of expertise. Not attacking, and it would be good if we could sort that out because its difficult to watch. Maybe worth looking at what sort of ball playing centrebacks we can get too, if Souttar won't renew. Maybe see if Bristol will be reasonable about a permanent deal? Just seen a piece about Kingsley who has a 'big decision to make' and 'isn't thinking about it just now'... even Halkett has been offered a contract but I've not heard a peep from him. Soapy also hasn't actually said he'd be happy to stay at Hearts (as far as I know)... ...I know in this day and age, it's all a game of poker with agents and the likes... Now if we want to play in Europe and Cup competitions but also be competitive in the league we must carry a good squad, this requires investment but over time will benefit the club even more financially. Now say we lose most of those players, like Kingsley, Souttar, Halkett, then it's not the end of the world I will be pissed at not getting a decent fee for Souttar, but we move On. Preferably i would like to keep the 20 mentioned above but think we will lose Souttar and Woodburn. So that put us down to 18 Robbie might move on Walker and Halliday too I would keep them good squad players so that would potentially put the squad down to 16.
