First two or three Police albums were decent, not a fan of anything after that.

He was more focused on his wrestling career by then so it’s understandable the quality dropped.

He'll send an SOS to the world, he'll send an SOS to the world. And hope that someone gets his, and hope that someone gets his. Message in a bottle

Carl Fredrickson

The Police were one of my first bands when I was wee. Loved their first two albums but interest waned after that. Dabbled in some of his solo stuff and wasnt for me. Liked him in Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels.

Another one of these feckin thread titles that make you not want to open it.

I’m glad to hear that he is still giving Roxanne good advice.  👍

Was on Vine's Tracks of my Years this week and frankly I found him boring! Complete contrast with Simon le Bon or Tony Hadley.

Musical genius, imo.   On a par with Elton & McCartney for musicianship and variety of styles.

All 3 are probably  knobs in real life though.🙄

I feel a little bit sorry for Sting as if it wasn't for Barney from New Order, he would undoubtedly take the crown of the most talented Sumner in music.

I’d say that there is no doubt that McCartney is as you describe.

Elton and Sting?  🤷🏿‍♂️

Didn't Paul Weller spit on his portrait in some art gallery once? Always came across as a sanctimonious prick in my opinion.

If true, says a lot about Weller.

Sting might have disappeared up his own arse, more than once, but the band he started in '77 were a great live act (for only 3 guys) and their first two albums alone, were genius.

Weller hated him but not entirely sure why. Agree about their first couple of albums. After that though seriously downhill with De Do Do Do and Every Little Thing; can't argue with Every Breath You Take though, that's a tune.

Elton John I've always found comes across anything but tbh.

Aye but it’s shagging without moving. Fine if you’re with a lady with “certain abilities” otherwise you’re just lying there, probably listening to a CD of whale sounds. Not for me.
