Mind blown recently as vet a couple so here the ball being rolled!!!! The actor who plays the cop who answers Sargent John McLeans call for help in Die Hard also drove Mick Dundee round New York in Crocodile Dundee. Smokey and the Bandit actor Paul Williams who famously played the part of “Little Enos” also wrote the score for Bugsy Malone and sang the famous end song “Give a little Love” Mind blown!! Next???? He played Major Howard in the film about D-Day, The Longest Day and in one scene played opposite an actor playing the part of him, Captain Todd. milky_26 Posted November 23, 2021 Share Posted November 23, 2021 the first person offered the role of john maclaine in die hard was frank sinatra it happened because sinatra starred in a film called the detective in 1968 based on a book of the same name by riderick thorpe and it was written into his contract he was to get first offer if any other books in the series were made into films. die hard is based on a book from the series called nothing lasts forever. sinatra was in his 70s by now and it was a token offer that was graciously refused. others offered the role include, arnie, stallone, eastwood and richard gere. if you watch it again you will notice all willis's scenes are at night since that was the only time he was free to film due to still being on moonlighting Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
