Dagger Is Back

Big Hearts, Jambos Kickback and Heart Of Midlothian, are once again joining forces on 27 November, the day of the home game against St Mirren, to collect donations of non-perishable food in support of the Community One Stop Shop.

http://www.coss-broomhouse.org.uk/

Last year Hearts fans kindly donated £4060, which allowed COSS to support hundreds of local families in need.

The Community One Stop Shop has been assisting the residents of Broomhouse and its surrounding area, for over 18 years. In November 2012, they launched the Broomhouse Foodbank which offers free packs of food to families and individuals in crisis. They feed an average of 400 people every month, and a significant increase is expected over the Festive season and well into the New Year. Supported by donations of non-perishable food, they are able to make a real difference to families living in poverty in the area.

There is increasing pressure on Foodbanks nationwide to cope with increased demand so any help you can give will make a huge difference https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/food-bank-shortages-universal-credit-b1943326.html

The collection will be held between 1230pm and kick off at 3pm at Foundation Plaza, where donations can be handed in to the team of volunteers in attendance. There will also be a drop off point at the gates to the Wheatfield Stand

The following suggested items would be gratefully received;

- toiletries (soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner

- nappies (all sizes)

 - biscuits

- UHT milk

- cereals

- tinned puddings (fruit, rice pudding)

Many people find it difficult to support events like this in terms of finding the time to get donations along to a collection point etc, so with the agreement of the JKB Board, we’ve set up a donations function to allow people to contribute financially to this worthwhile cause. This will run from now until midnight on 4 December.

If you’d like to donate, please follow this link https://www.hmfckickback.co.uk/index.php?/clients/donations/

The proceeds will be collected, and once we have a final amount, the Community One Stop Shop will be able to buy additional supplies including fresh fruits and bread, which will allow them to continue to support families into the New Year.  The JKB Board have generously agreed to cover all Paypal fees which means 100% of funds donated will go to COSS for the benefit of local families.

JKB has a long and proud history of supporting many charitable causes and any donations will make such a huge difference to families in crisis.  A huge thank you in advance of your support

I’d like to thank the JKB Board once again, for their valued advice, and support of this initiative

Hi,

not due a trip down until December but, I’d very much like to donate food items.  If anyone is going with food on the day, I’d be most grateful if you would take some in for me.  I can send some dosh direct to you, I know the risk element here so no lectures from anyone please, if you wouldn’t mind buying some items and taking them in………Anyone up for this?

It’s incredible in the current economic climate that just shy of under £1k can be raised in just 4 days.

Hearts fans time and again will stand up and be counted, whether it be for our club or for worthwhile causes.

Thanks to everyone for their support

We raised just under one million in a weekend as a first step in saving our club a few years ago.  I chipped in £50 towards that and I commend myself and every other Jambo who collectively put millions into the club over recent years in donations.

And continue to do so in ever increasing amounts despite a global bloody pandemic.

That's a great effort after 2 weeks, well on track to reach or beat the target with a week still to go.
