Tenuously relevant but Cruickie, Holt, Anderson, Townsend and the "Thomson twins" all played against Stirling Albion in the league the week before the 1968 Cup Final.

We were a goal up when Eddie Thomson lobbed the ball back to Cruickie from the half way line - except Cruickie was at the edge of the box and the ball went in the top corner for the best OG I've ever seen.  Donald Ford scored his second straight away so we did win 2-1.  I think the OG may be the reason why George Miller came back in for Eddie (rather than Arthur) Thomson for the Final. Arthur Mann came in for Davie Holt so he missed the game too.

Arthur Mann was one of our best ever full backs.

Just read that Eddie Thomson was 4 days short of his 56th birthday when he died in 2003

Tragic that so many great players die well before their time.
