Regardless of Ri Alban’s politics this is a true statement. It’s a poverty trap. Folk have the double whammy of benefits cuts and rising energy prices. Many of the people it will hit the hardest are already paying the highest rates for gas/electric because once you are in serious debt to power companies it becomes impossible to access the best deals until that debt is paid. It’s like running around inside an ever decreasing circle.

It’s an awful situation but the crackpots that think the silver bullet of Scottish independence would solve all of these issues are living in la la land.

Its madness to think the solution to the problems caused by leaving a political union that has integrated closely to our economy is to leave a political union who is even more integrated closely with our economy.
