Hibs New Partnership - Sportemon Go

Gorgieshed

Recommended Posts

Sportemon Go to have logo on the back of Hibs strips. Bringing them 6 figures a year in a 3 year deal.

Can someone please explain what this company do and how they make money? I've read the article and have no clue. Their fans seem unhappy at the partnership and a lot banging on about carbon footprint.

If someone could explain in the most simplest of terms it would be appreciated!

Looks like a business trying to cash in on the stupidity of sports fans to make them bet and buy virtual currencies - strange mish-mash of every internet con-trick going...

Ron would sell their mothers for a buck.  End of .

disgraceful decision from the owner. To be fair a lot of hibs fans are scathing in the clubs decision and rightfully so.

there's plenty to come from him that’s for sure if this is anything to go by

never heard of them but the sheer amount of bots in the twitter post is mental,

from a quick read all i gather is you buy their crypto currency and get a digital photo or video of a sports player / team, that anyone can get access to for free....

so sounds like a huge scam.

Really is night and day eh. We're pursuing charity sponsorships and ethical partnerships. They're whoring themselves to randoms at the behest of an owner with no understanding of Scottish football.

Love it :)

Seriously though, thank god for Ann Budge/James Anderson the various others who have helped get the club to this point. Glad to see the back of sponsors like Wonga.

One would have thought that Hibs official website would be promoting this new partnership and describing precisely the industry they are in and the products and services they supply.

Doesn't seem that's the case.

🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑

What with their Ponzi schemes and Ron's loans now non-fungible tokens, (whatever TF they are) makes one appreciate, all the more, the current situation at HMFC.

Hoping for a painful and terminal decline soon

Thought the thread was gonna be about St. Mirren.

I think they’re already their feeder team.
I thought it was a training partnership with the Commonwealth pool.

Yup, PSG have done this and it was claimed Messi had half his sign on fee was paid in the PSG fan token. But it is such a bad deal for fans to invest in. Its akin to the disney money you can change your money into at Disneyland, ultimately pointless.

Their website reads like it was written by one of those online Jargon Generators. That's never a good sign. Means they've got something to hide.

The company looks utter shite. There are some good NFT football platforms out there but this one doesn’t look good.

Whereas someone like Sorare is far more reputable.

Fair play to Hibs fans for calling it out, talks of being a super fan by buying the coin etc on the Sportemon website 😂 there was a screenshot going around of a Sportemon group chat advising the people invested that there would be a pre pre sale of the Hibs coins for them before the Hibs fans even knew it existed. Their original post was infested by folk from that Sportemon who know nothing about Hibs immediately as it was posted, claiming how great it is going to be and urging folk to buy (solely so they could pump and dump for profit), so much so there was another screenshot going around from the group asking them not to comment on any other posts from Hibs because 'the Hibs fans really need to understand what they're being told' (or if 'stop commenting because they think it's sus and they'll never buy so we'll never make profit', if you like), bunch of condescending pricks tbh. Folk from that Sportemon bought something like 30k coins before it was even announced.

I remember my old boy telling me to go out and play when I was playing Pac Man on my Atari or the time he said Boy George was a good looking bird while watching Top of the Pops and thinking - I’ll never be old and out of touch like he is.

I literally don’t have a clue what is going on these days.

Just read their thread on this, and to be fair they are not happy, understandably.

Someone at Hibs has signed off on this and they are continuing to promote it. Not a good look for them.

Continue with it and they deservedly get a PR backlash, cut their ties and lose the revenue along with a potential contractual penalty clause.

Win Win in my book

Hib$ fans mostly raging at the deal. Showing their true Hib$ class by calling the company Sporte [filter edit] as well 🙁

A six figure deal apparently.

Probably less than what we pay in via foh each month.

You know what? I hate to give them credit but fair play to their fans for telling them where to go with this crap. Seen a few saying they won't be buying merch etc from the club until this sponsorship is terminated which hopefully will put other Scottish clubs off these kind of deals. Hope the SportemonGo arseholes lose money & get the message that Scottish football fans don't want their business anywhere near their clubs.

There are a number of champagne socialists in the hibs support who think hibs are the working class club. They would no doubt point out this is a Ponzi scheme encouraging fans to gamble and therefore oppose it. However hibs have made their bed with Ron and this is their Wonga moment.
Thank goodness that we have gone down the ethical advertising route with Save the Children and MND.

Did hibs not promote the NHS last season on their shirts?

All football fans are socialists until they see what sort of money capitalists will throw at the club 😁

If you notice, the font on their shirt was not the same as the NHS logo so whilst it was laudable to thank the NHS on their shirts, there appears to have been no agreement from the NHS to use their actual brand or logo.

The SGO telegram page is something else. Just loads of people posting shite links and memes and the odd word from the owner telling them when to spam / not to span the Hibs twitter

Had they not been spamming everything then this wouldn't have grown arms and legs. They've made it worse for their own ponzi scheme.

Andy Robertson will drop them if they start the same shite on his socials.

Have a read at their FAQ on the topic and it will leave you none the wise.

https://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/article/hib-fan-token-on-pre-sale

What Is The Hib$ Fan Token?

A Fan Token is a valued VIP Fandom membership in the form of a cryptocurrency.

HIB$ Fan Token Holders could receive premium and priority access to a range of Hibernian FC specific Fandom membership perks, competitions, iGames and loyalty benefits.

So that clears that up. When you get down to it, it sounds like this company are sponsoring the club and then raffling off the sponsor benefits. But all wrapped up in some cryptocurrency mumbo jumbo that allows other people to profit off Hibs fans in the process.
