Question of Sport

Caught the last 10 mimutes tonight. Sorry if it has been covered before but WTF has the BBC done to it? Unwatchable and inlistenable. About 5 minutes devoted to trying to identify an athlete's squeal. Someone I believe is some sort of comedian reading the questions on cards. Why depart from it being chaired by a ... sportsman?) Or woman. That worked pretty well.for decades.

Watching it just now. Like Quek, but it will take time for McGuiness to settle in. Monye is a strange choice though as he has personality of wet sponge.

Never seen it so can’t comment but wasn’t David Vine just a commentator ? Not a sports person. ??

Like David Coleman. But both he and Vine were associated with sports as commentators and presenters.

It was a great programme in it's day.

Ally, Wee Willie, Bill, Botham, Dettori, Emmo etc.

The arsehole Tufnell changed it for me.

It's a pile of mince.

It looked dreadful and Paddy M's voice and accent is brutal.

Not the "the thrill of it all" I was expecting Jonno 🤣

Anything Paddy McGuiness is in is given a wide berth.

So very true. He hammered the final nail in the coffin of Top Gear and here he is to see off QoS.

100% this.

No chance I'll be watching/listening to that moron.

Funny as piles.

I remember being excited as a kid in the 80s getting the board game for Christmas (have a memory it was the number one gift that year, might be wrong) but not watched it in years.

The addition of Paddy McGuinness isn't going to change that.

I like paddy mcguinnes, find him quite funny. However, this isn't the type of programme for him.

FWIW, I think having him on top gear is the right choice, made it watchable again after Chris Evans and matt leblanc.

If you think he is bad on those shows, watch that stand up show he done a few years ago and you'll see how bad he used to be.

Seeing Emlyn on the box there has given me a flashback of Princess Anne being a contestant.

It was a decent show in those days.

Not watched it since unless I've channel hopped onto it. I give a it 5 mins then normally say "**** off" and turn it over.

Maybe I’m just easily amused, but one of my favourite moments was when David Ginola was on it and as Sue Barker was introducing him, Ally McCoist (I think) got up and put a bib on her 😂

Yep.  What the hell do the BBC see in him ?  They gave him that awful stupid game show CatchPoint too - makes Danny Dyer look like an intellectual.

Maybe there's a new category on the BBC's  "inclusivity" tick list - annoying unfunny presenters.   First it was that Rylan bloke with the cartoon face, now its McGuinness.   What next - Ant & Dec ?   :wallbash:

I'll take the 'don't watch it' teaching.

Rarely watched it before mcguiness and he means I'll never watch it now.

Might with the sound down for sam quek.
