International window, some new players. Surely we must be arranging a couple of bounce games in the coming days. Anyone in the know?

Hearts v Dundee at Oriam tomorrow. My mate running the line. 👍

Decent test. Hope the thumb plays, maybe get some "carnage" dealt out. Imagine Cammy took him out big time. Instant legend.

I believe so, but I don't know the k.o. time.

I'll be away on holiday on Friday anyway.

No cameras etc. Perfect for a sly mugging

Do bounce game red cards count towards league games? Cammy Devlin could do worse to endear himself to the hearts fans than a sly we rough tackle against three thumb 👍

What actually is a bounce game? Is it different to a friendly?

Is a bounce game not closed doors?

Bounce games are more off the record and unannounced.

A friendly would be advertised, where as this won’t be talked about anywhere else except from here.

I think the referee, advises the coaching staff to sub a player to prevent him from receiving a Red card.

From memory, that happened in one of our pre-season games somewhere in the North of England about 5-10 years ago. Possibly Scott Robinson? To confuse the issue, I thought that was in an official friendly although  it was at a training complex (I think)  so maybe it was strictly a “bounce” game. Anyone else remember more exactly?

Starting line-up

Stewart

Moore Halkett Kingsley

Denholm Haring Devlin McEneff Cochrane

Gnanduillet Ginelly

Finishing line up

McFarlane

Rathie Souttar Watson

C Smith McGill Benigime Boyce Halliday

Henderson Kirk

Moore and Devlin played around 70 minutes and both looked decent.  Moore solid in defece and comfortable bringing the ball forward.  Devlin was very busy and kept the ball well.

Hearts goals were all well worked and came from a glancing header by Halliday, a quick turn and powerful left foot shot from the edge of the box by Boyce, all capped off with some neat quick passing at the edge of the box and Henderson finishing it off.

How did the baldy linesman do? 😁

Probably gave them the Penalty 😩

Both linesmen did ok with nothing controversial.  The penalty was a stonewaller after McFarlane brought down the Dundee player after failing to gather a through ball at the edge of the box.

How did Denholm look as a wing back?

He's more of a forward thinking player so ended up more as a winger than a full back. He played ok but was one of those subbed at half time (replaced by Connor Smith).

Are you thinking of a game at a sports complex in Leigh? Or somewhere close to that about 5 years ago??? Definitely played 2 games there as I tried to go to one but it was strictly off limits.

Somewhere in Greater Manchester/Lancashire

yes that sounds like it. It was reported in the press at the time that a Hearts player would have been red carded but the ref had a word with the Hearts manager and he was subbed. It does sound like a “bounce” game from what you say, not an official friendly.
