Interesting to see how the SPFL deal with this if there’s significant disruption for Sunday?!

Reschedule, sweep sweep, nothing of note here, no wrong doing to be investigated... All relevant authorities happy with all protocols taken by all concerned, although they never asked...

Who and how many is the question

Rumoured as Wright positive and close contacts being McGregor, McLaughlin, Tavenier and Helander.

Although Sky say cases......

This will be happening to most clubs. Imagine before our derby ?

You probably can't help a player catching it, say from someone in their family, but clubs need to make sure their protocols are in order to stop the close contact impacts.

Albeit as more players are double jagged, that time-lapse and PCR negative self isolation reduces.

That is a really important point for clubs this season, would be bad to have someone missing who is a negative Covid but deemed close contact and not vaccinated.

Seems a few close contacts in Rangers case have been vaccinated so may not be as bad as made out.

Match against Celtic will be postponed to ensure "sporting integrity".

However if it happens to any other team under any other circumstances a 3-0 will be awarded.

I thought at first I was being sarcastic with this post but I have the horrible feeling that that is the way it might pan out given the contract with Sky guarantees four old firm games for broadcast.

Is close contact still a thing in football? Surely a negative test would stop isolation?

Think it does in England not sure about up here.

Aubameyang came on for Arsenal on Sunday but tested positive the day of the Brentford game the week prior which by my maths was 8/9 full days depending on how you wanna look at it.

Lacazette was also in his box with friends and family he too tested positive the same Friday

I'm sure to reduce from the standard ten days if identified as a close contact, you would need to have been double jagged by at least 14 days and have an NHS PCR test with a negative result.  The private ones clubs do won't suffice.

Football doesn't and shouldn't be determined as an exception.

As has been said if your double vaccinated you get a test and if negative you carry on as normal

The 10 day isolation thing stopped a couple weeks back

Well that’s the rule for us plebs but footballers might be special

I believe uefa rules state as long as you have 13 players including a goalkeeper the game has to be played.

Oooh, both 1st team keepers out 😂

Unfortunately SFA may use that as an excuse to be lenient. Of course younger keepers just won't count this time etc etc

Would love to see them pumped out of Europe though

Precedent set last season when we loaned St Mirren Zlamal.

Whether that counts for anything...

If Uefa believe the match can go ahead without disruption then a domestic game can take place several days later. 👍

Yes, for those who have been double jabbed at least 2 weeks ago, a negative PCR test on day 2 allows close contacts to end self-isolation immediately.

However, as under 30s didn't begin getting first jab until mid-June, most footballers won't be at that stage yet and will have to isolate for the full 10 days of identified as close contacts.

Interesting to see posters on this thread highlight the importance of keeping protocols going to reduce the number of players deemed close contacts. On other threads the need for a red zone is being heavily criticised. The red zone has been kept by the SFA (not Government) specifically to reduce the number of teammates deemed a close contact if a player tests positive.

Every chance most if not all teams will be affected. The question is whether the authorities treat all clubs in the same way
