Thought this thread was about the Italian detective series of the same name when I saw the title.

He's no relation to legendary indie wrestling announcer Tony Schiavone, now of AEW fame.

Or maybe he is, haven't actually checked.

Yer mate'll have to check that himself.

Niemi’s gloves

Ryan Schiavone has apparently joined Arron Darge and Harris Spratt on loan at Gala FR in the lowland league. A bit of a drop back for the lad after being at Dumbarton in the first half of the season but hopefully he’ll get plenty of game time there (he’s on the bench today).

I’m not sure what has happened to Sean Docherty who was also at GFR earlier in the season. Disappeared from their team lists a couple of months ago (possibly injured?)

Being serious for a moment.

Does anyone know anything about the lad, where he comes from, etc.

Back in the 80s we had a youth signed from Celtic with this surname.

His dad (maybe uncle, fuzzy memory) had an Ice Cream van and I used to chat with him.

he lived in Stoneyburn.

Often wonder if Ryan is from this family.

He was signed as a winger from Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts.  He was quite tall for his age group and pacy, so Hearts decided to try him as a striker.  I've never thought of him as an instinctive goalscorer, but he still managed to score a few, some of them quite important goals, including a couple in a youth cup tie against Celtic at Tynecastle.  I haven't seen much of him over the last couple of years due to a mix of covid restrictions and him being out injured a fair bit of the time.

I know quite a lot of Dumbarton fans were disappointed to see his loan ended so I'm surprised he's dropped to that level. Hopefully he'll get lots of gametime and a few goals though.
