The mood of TGFITW will be further improved by the knowledge that the Danish team which put them out of the Champions League is currently being scudded 3-0 by PSV Eindhoven and look as if they could ship a whole lot more.

Nowhere near CL level.

Nope, it's a few songs for 90 minutes and it certainly didn't stop me or thousands of other Hearts fans taking their kids. This is a classic example of the snowflake generation.

"Going to the game today?"

"No"

"Why not?"

"Because the away fans sing songs that I don't like"

Hate them both but got to admit having to listen to a bigoted song or getting scudded with a can or a bottle like it used to be i'll take the songs if a shite song comes on the radio i've forgotten about it two minutes later i'm still a great believer in sticks and stones etc

This thread is amazing from slating Celtic fans to defending Rangers fans by people who are known for being sash bashing muppets too 🤣

Both sets of fans are absolute wankers to a man at grounds. First hand , my experience is Rangers fans are worse as Iv never been spat on or had missiles launched at me by Celtic fans the way I have by Rangers fans when taking a corner….However , they both destroy seats , both abuse staff , both cause damage.

You have led a sheltered life methinks. Plus we are talking about Tynecastle, but you seem unable to grasp the nettle in most instances.

My wife and I were moved at Ibrox, from the enclosure to the Hearts end, because the back of her jacket was covered with spittle.

She never experienced anything like that at Parkhead.

Just saying.

So you were in the Rangers end?  That might explain it.  Think it might have been worse if you had been in the Celtic end at Parkhead and got rumbled.   Both cheeks are, on the whole, utter pond life though.

I saw two Celtic fans receive a few punches for being in the Wheatfield in the late 90s. Celtic scored and they started celebrating. Not a wise move, but they shouldn't have been in there in the first place.

Hearts - Celtic games are far more volatile than Hearts - rangers.  Everyone knows why that is tbh.

Is it because the Hearts and Rangers casuals are BFF?

Because many hearts and Rangers fans ( not all)  are wanting to be part of the UK and be British   rather than be pretend irish left wing socialists that hate anything  british  or government ruling,   so maybe some can see what they are on about in their own ways, it suits them so let them be ??

Was that the game we won 0-1 and wee Robbo scored the winner?

I was at that match and remember having to run the gauntlet past a group of irate Celtic fans at full time. As a 10 year old it was pretty frightening. Probably the most frightening experience I have had at a football match in fact.

From personal experience Celtic are far worse.

I've no doubt if I was unfortunate enough to be brought up a Hibby I would have seen the far worse side of the Rangers support.

Why are Rangers being treated the same as Celtic? I'd love to see their allocation slashed and the seats taken up by Hearts fans. The sporting advantage would be significant.

But surely nobody is seriously suggesting that the Rangers away support is as badly behaved at Tynecastle as what Celtic's is?

Celtic should be a separate issue and the behaviour of their fans should be called out as the reason why we won't be selling them tickets.

Tbf, Celtic are probably worse at Tynecastle, but both are shite house fans and both should be treated the same.

Seen much more trouble with Celtic over the years. Much more, both home and away.

I also mind a group of Ranger fans on Gorgie Road about 3 hours before a game gobbing repeatedly on my burst when she ignored their flattering advances. We were about 16 at the time and they we're at least 10 years older. Told me I'd be getting slashed if I opened my mouth.  Pleasant chaps.

That is unacceptable. I assume by “burst” you mean “bird”. Sorry that happened, and sorry no one backed you to kick the shit out of them.

There's a reason why some favour the queen's 11 and it's not football related.

I hate both them,

Rangers slightly more due to their tax dodging and cheating of Hearts and Scottish football for a decade, but when it comes to fans behaviour there is nothing between them.

Thats not even close to accurate though. Boy had a suspension in Brazil as hes moved federations to Uefa they had to look at it and decide if the suspension should carry over. In the intervening time he was not suspended and was eligible to play. They decided hours before the PSV game to tell the Danes his suspension would carry over to Uefa therefore he was not allowed to play v PSV which is why the Danes are pissed. Celtic have no involvement bar the fact the papers up here want to try and sell more to them by claiming he wasn’t eligible.

No sure if it was the same game but there was a Wednesday night game around then that there were running battles down on the waste land where buses parked. Quite a few buses went back without windows that night

Interlopers from both sides of the old firm were regular interlopers in the main stand. Tossers always celebrated a goal and then it would kick off.

In the 80s, old firm fans would buy tickets for the home end at Tynecastle then, once the game started, the police would walk them around the perimeter track to the away end. Frustrated the hell out of me that the authorities didn't kick them out of the ground.

Agree with your right boot. As a total aside I was hijacked into going VIP to Ibrox to see.........Feyenord game last year ish.

I genuinely had no idea of the sectarian pure filth.  hatred anything goes scum that were there. Now bear in mind this was a get lead up the marble staircase with your lanyard on, , meet Juke Box im a bankrupt hanger onner or Derrick they should have played me or Marv Andrews or the chinese lookin boy , all the bursds on free champers. I grew up with shit, piss fags and sawdust but to see a generation of (and im talking 70 yr olds behaving like that (wayhay as Marseille knocked one in against Celtic) dressed in 3000 pound suits - I never knew existed on those historical terms -quite a **** education. Apologies to mods for language. I hate Hibs but Ill also drink with my Hibee mates.

You're not against something symbolic before games in Scotland to get the message over that we fans want sectarianism out of the game and society?

Once people get the message, all the gestures etc will stop.

You think we should just accept these things as part of the game?

Do you really think taking the knee against sectarianism will eradicate sectarianism from the game in Scotland?  Taking the knee against racism isn't going to eradicate racism, because the racists don't give a shit.  If anything, it gives them something else to rail against.

I remember a game against Hibs, having to buy tickets for the away end at Tynie after the home tickets had sold out. Then being escorted by the police along with dozens of other Hearts supporters, into the home end, after our cover was blown with our wild cebrations after an early Hearts goal.
