as long as he is first choice it is a good move, its a going to be a tough league so will be in demand.

What other keepers do they have?

They have Jamie Sneddon (another ex Hearts goalkeeper) though he has been backup.

As of 1st July according to Wikipedia:

Jamie Sneddon (Who was on our books as a youth), Zak Rudden and Mason McCready.

zak rudden is a striker not a goalkeeper

So he is

I was looking at the wrong line 🤦🏼‍♂️

Just Sneddon and McCready then.

Sneddon played in the midweek friendly with Rangers (Partick lost 1-0), but they were looking for a first choice - and have now found one.

I guess that will mean Craig plays all the league cup games for us

He signed an extension this summer. Sounds like he was injured and finished the season as first choice last season.

https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-news/jamie-sneddon-extends-firhill-stay/

Evening News reported in May that we had two offers from Championship clubs to take Harry on a season long loan this year. So presumably a conversation has been had about how much he is likely to play. Probably fighting with Sneddon for the first team. To be honest, unlikely that any Championship club is likely to go into the season with a Hearts youth loan player as their only option for first choice keeper.

Or Stewart.

That'd be a cracking move for him if he nails down number 1 slot (yikes, that sounds rude!)

Wonder what his training schedule would be.  Partick fulltime, but you'd think we'd want Harry doing some work alongside oor Craig, wouldn't we?  Maybe a 50/50 split on training or something?

Possibly too much of a covid risk.

He will replace Craig in 2/3 years no doubt get regular game time as a No1 maybe become Craig’s No2 in his final year then take over.

worries me though if Gordon is injured and Stewart plays who is the 3rd do we recall him or use one of the younger boys to take cover ? The lad who came on in second half v Spartans was quite vocal .

That would be the elephant in the room - though an elephant would make a better keeper....

Ross can carry Craig's bags for him

He made one boo boo last night but got off with it. Came for a ball he was never getting.

It's a tough call for clubs our size/in our market.

You have a talented young goalie, 100% best decision to get him games out on loan.  But you ideally want 3 keepers in the squad, so it's a 1st choice, a 2nd choice (or in some cases, 2 vying for top spot).  Who's the third guy!?  A keeper at the end of his career looking to take up coaching, another young kid who's playing for the agegroups?  A total jobber happy to pick up a wage to just be there, but then that's not really the answer.

It's either take a wee calculated risk and go with 2 plus the kid, or pay out for someone who won't ever be needed.  No right or wrong until a scenario pops up of course!!

In the Br*r* game he made one save in the whole game - when the shot from the half way line was only chest high. Any higher and that was another goal as he was way off his line (like against QOS)

Good level of football to play at at his age and hopefully he will still be at Hearts 1 or 2 days a week to work with Gordon. Championship tHis season then maybe bump him up to a Premiership team next season like Livingston or St Mirren.

Love this move. Let him play and develop

Craigs final season should be with Stone as backup/cup games. Then hopefully he is ready to be Number 1

Good move for him after loans at Spartans and Albion Rovers, seems logical to loan him at Championship level and test him further.

He only came on for 20 mins last night but he has a good presence and I was impressed by how vocal he was, much louder than Stewart.

Think we should be moving for Rudden. Seems to be doing really well for Patrick and we seem to be in a cycle of being late for the youngsters we want.

Also, good move for Stone. Patrick will be looking to push for promotion.

Sure he's also at uni (Glasgow) studying medicine.

Should keep him busy

If true and he can get games, very good move for him at this stage. Definitely a platform to showcase what everyone says he has, as well as iron out any mistakes he may make like all youngsters will do.

Needs games to develop but not ready to risk in the bear pit of tynecastle.

Not confident of stewart at all.

Would be a great experience for the kid, hope he breaks in and plays 30+ games this season for the jags, then comes back and challenges flash for the gloves the next season (maybe play in the cup games and stuff if he has developed well) I kind of want partick to win the championship as a reward for getting screwed over the most by donkey and the spfl!

Good move for all involved: will be playing at the level we want him playing at and a good signing for them because he genuinely looks like he will be a great keeper. And as an added bonus, we're helping Partick out a wee bit.

Very good move for Stone and Hearts. Will hopefully cement down the keeper spot for Partick.

Hopefully Partick have a few games on BBC this season.

This.

I hope he gets enough game time there. It bothers me when we send players on loan to see them on the bench half the time (whether that’s the fault of the players themselves is another topic of conversation).

Harry Wragg was a jockey. I think in days gone bye it was also rhyming slang for a packet of fags.

Brilliant, one of our better loans this, get a good idea of where he is at though worth remembering if it doesnt go great its not fatal, certain Kasper Schmeichel was not so great at Falkirk and slightly older

Schmeichel was tremendous the other night, so if our lad does as well as that then things will be looking good. Just hoping that he doesn't get 'poached' before we get the benefit.

Harry Wragg was a 3 (?) times Derby winning jockey.

Harry Wragg = Jags = Partick Thistle

Jam Tarts = Hearts

Cabbage and Ribs = Hibs = Cabbages 😁😁
