AlimOzturk Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Djokovic getting a walkover yesterday will help him a lot with freshness. Mussetti wont be straight forward.
rudi must stay Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Zverev wins again Tien. From what I saw this was a good match up for him. Tien won't get higher than 20 he doesn't have a big game than can take him higher

rudi must stay Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Alcaraz reminds me of Federer not afraid to try things, tremendously talented and his attitude is spot on. Great for the game

Zverev probably isn't even at Murray's level as he's been around longer than Alcaraz and Sinner but still hasn't won a Slam. I hope someone else can get themselves up to Alcaraz and Sinner's level, as it's going (has already gotten?) boring soon if they win every Slam.

neilnunb Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Djoko getting quite a lucky run here but he has absolutely no hope if he's playing Sinner in the semi. 😐

In fact I think it’ll be a right dooin . He should have quit after the magical 24 was achieved . He sealed his legacy with that . The GOAT
PortyJambo Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Must be one of the luckiest runs to a semi-final in a Slam ever. Walkover in the last round, then a retiral when his opponent is 2 sets up and cruising. Djokovic admitted as such that he was "on his way out" and that Musetti "should have been a winner". Hard to see him having a chance against Sinner, assuming he finishes the job against Shelton, but the one thing that Djokovic has in his favour is that he's not had to play much tennis so far.

To be fair, neither has Sinner. 😁😔 starting to lose interest in his side of the draw of tournaments. Alcaraz plays with fun. Sinner is just a bore, amongst the other stuff.

Nookie Bear Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I cannot be bothered with Zverev but the sport really needs a final without both Sinner & Alcaraz in it
JudyJudyJudy Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Jessie Pegula playing some great Tennis . Up against Rybakina next so needs to maintain . I like both players . Hopefully big Saba demolishes her opponent

Sure but it's been going on long enough for folk not to have a hissy fit about it...😛 Besides, who really wants to shake hands with someone all sweaty. And when they run their hand through their hair before shaking hands. 🤢

PortyJambo Posted January 29 Posted January 29 (edited) Everyone in tennis, and elsewhere, knows and accepts that Svitolina won't shake hands with Russian or Belorussian opponents at the end of the match. Kind of understandable when your country was invaded by one of the countries, and with the support of the other. It finished being a noteworthy thing at least a couple of years ago. It would be more noteworthy if she suddenly stopped doing it now. Edited January 29 by PortyJambo

To beat her Rybakina will have to play the match of her life and Sabalenka to not be at her best Could be tight, their head to head is fairly close (8 - 6) and I don't think either of them have beaten each other twice in a row. Sabalenka is favourite but when Rybakina has beat her she has kind hit her off the court and beat her convincingly in straight sets, last time in WTA finals last Nov Rybakina won 6-3 7-6.
neilnunb Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Tense times in the semi! Alacaraz back to 5-5 when Zverev serving for the match. Looks like this will go to a tiebreak. Alcaraz had been 2 sets up but then started suffering from something, quad, but Zverev threw tantrums saying it was just cramp. Bellend.
neilnunb Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I'm wrong. Alcaraz breaks again and wins. Choker Zverev strikes again 🤣
JudyJudyJudy Posted January 30 Posted January 30 (edited) The biggest choker since the Boston strangler ! Dearie me . Unbelievable . Yet so predictable . The gushing from the commentators re CD was like niagra falls . Mind you C deserved it. Still pisses me off his continual fist pumps Edited January 30 by JudyJudyJudy

Malinga the Swinga Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Great win for Alcaraz but suspect Sinner will win it. Shame as he has the personality of a cabbage.
Mikey1874 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Umpires and officials need to read up on the rules for cramping.
