Cheers mate! Was sick of abuse on here when I just tried to make a point how much I enjoyed good footballers. Reminds me of time my elderly father cheered Dennis Bergkamp goal against Argentina. There’s no doubting the guys ability, finishing prowess and efficiency on the ball but he lacks guts too often. They keep pumping it into the public domain how great he is, almost putting him up there with the best ever, but the guy goes missing too often when the chips are down. Doesn’t chase lost causes, ducks out aerial challenges but a lot of people these days want to believe a great player is built on ability alone. And a captain? He toils to rouse himself when he needs to, never mind his team mates. It’s all fan pleasing shite and propaganda in football now. If he leaves Spurs he’ll need to go to a team thats already got the set up behind him to make use of his best elements, because he’s not going to drag teams to cups and leagues.
