Just had a plate of steamed broccoli and breaded fish...broccoli with a drizzle of olive oil salt and pepper.

Magic...Broccoli.

I wish I was drunk so I could use that as an excuse for posting about broccoli.

Yeah, broccoli 💖

Dinnae throw out the stalk.

Thinly slice it, it's like big asparagus.

I eat it most days, unless sprouts are in season. Very healthy too. It’s my green veg of choice. I too drizzle it in olive oil.

Or try dusting with za'atar, which contains sumac, salt, sesame seeds, and selected spices - all the 's's, if you will... Damn' good.  :icon14:

It’s a close points decision between broccoli and asparagus!

I could also happily drink a mug of garden peas soaked in butter!

I caught an Italian restaurant owner stealing a bag of what he thought was purple sprouting broccoli straight from the field.Parked in the gate wandering around stuffing a bin bag with the young plants.

It was actually a commercial derivative of Oil Seed Rape and would have made his diners very ill.

****ing cheeky **** *******.

Any way, broccoli good OSR bad.

Sumac, seasoning of a refined palate!

Other notable mentions in the veg world are asparagus and corn on the cob!

Since folk are strying out the lane and mentioning other veg   ,  may I put forward baked cabbage?

Sweetheart cabbage quartered lengthways brushed with olive oil along with a dusting of chilli flakes/powder...

I shall be trying sumac and za'atar in the near future.

I put my cabbage in the slow cooker with my ham joint at a strategic point of the cooking. Topically enough, sumac goes on it amongst other spices.

Your digestion system will thank you for it, and let you know, quite regularly !

If we are doing cooking styles then

deep frying pan , coconut oil and put the asparagus in to start to fry , about 90 secs in fill the frying pan with enough water to just cover the asparagus and cook off 👌🏻

Nutritionally it's fantastic. Taste-wise it's awful. I just see it as a necessary evil

I have tried a Vegan diet but it tends to come out of me at a 180 degree coverage. Honestly, could be sitting insulting the porcelain in stops and starts for ten minutes.

If we are looking for tasty veg, look no further than samphire.

Those uncultured souls, who haven’t tried it, can thank me later.

Where do you source this?  (Ive never seen it in a supermarket)

Cold steamed broccoli with sesame oil, soy sauce and some toasted nuts or seeds is a wonderful side dish.

Though having spoken to the missus, she says the supermarket. Waitrose, Sainsburies and Tesco all sell it apparently. Maybe depends on your supermarket but she tells me its a commonly stocked item.

I'm in the metropolitan city of Dunfermline... They might stock curly kale... :(
