Sorry!?  Eff them!  Ha ha!  We should be taking their players.  And manager!

Haha, mostly that, want to see them slip up as I think they could be a real rival if they keep their team together. Just more feel in general with football how small teams produce a great season then are immediately picked apart.

Know much about the new chap? Seemed to happen very fast after VI departure

We’re always after the same thing, young players with potential, who can play high tempo, pressing, attacking, football, to develop and sell on. We have a very high turn over of playing and coaching staff due to that being our plan, so we’re always scouting for replacements, we recruited the new head coach yesterday, as from today we’ll be scouting a replacement for him, at his former club he’ll have had a reputation for bringing through young players, and we’ll have been analysing them players, with a view to bringing them to our club, obviously while scouting those players, the person doing so will have seen the type of football the head coach as them playing, how he sets up, the tactics and game plan he uses, his overall footballing philosophy and so on, as a result someone thinks he’ll fit in well with what we’re trying to do at Oakwell, so put his name forward, in the meantime scouting reports will have been done, and a watchful eye kept on him, as soon as the vacancy came up he’ll have been contacted.

You’re about £1m out……you do love an exaggeration when it comes to transfer fees.

The original deal was around £1.5m….to be paid in instalments….but we took less to secure the balance a year or so later.

That’s even worse then!  I thought it was at least £2m.

St Mirrens Jake Doyle-Hayes, who was about to sign for Dundee United now off to Hibs apparently. Hibs in signing another central midfielder shock

Feel for St Johnstone a bit, as they are getting the usual curse of when a small club does really well, they get their team picked apart by others. Rooney looks to be going to Rotherham, Bournemouth are after Jason Kerr and Jamie McCart is wanted by MK Dons. And I am sure there will be others targeted.

feel sorry for them? The Perth fermers were as happy as anyone to stick the knife into us last season.

Did they not sign a 22 year old from them last summer too?  And Mallan.  They like a St Mirren midfielder, McGinn was the exception.

St Johnstone benefited  lot more than others by the decision too.

Don't think I've ever seen him play.   That's how much an impression he must have made.

A motivated Griffiths is an asset not sure that’s something we will see again though

You have to wonder if that is a managers decision or from the club who have simply had enough and told the manager to let him go........recent stories had him training hard etc to make an impression.

No doubt as you state if motivated he would be a good signing and you have to think interest will be there from Hibs, Dundee and Aberdeen perhaps in Scotland...................the risk though is clear

If he decides that it's time to grow up and knuckle down in training he will be a great signing wherever he goes!!

Nuno Espírito Santo confirmed as Spurs new manager. Happier with that than some of the other names floated.

New DOF was at Juve last year and wanted him there. Obviously rates him highly. Intriguing one. Wonder if he’ll take his trusty assistant Mr Cathro with him.

Can't be that. He'd have just nicked another one while on his Lucozade raid.

Keeping him at Celtic means he can’t score goals for Hibs or Dons.

I don't know if they have the finances but if Utd could get Harry Kane in; with Rashford, Sancho and Fernandes, he'd score an absolute bucketload there.

Are they? Hadn't picked up on that.

Might as well get both in and play all out attack!

Sancho will be a great addition to an already fast attack.  Where they really need to strengthen to compete with Man City is at centre back and midfield.  Sounds like they are trying to get Varane, he would be a great signing.  That would leave midfield.  Not convinced by Pogba at United.  He has too many off days for a 'world class' player.  Need a Du Bruyne type.

It's also about squad rotation. Maybe more so at the biggest clubs where nearly everyone plays internationals too. Rashford ended up injured at end of season and possibly cost his place in England side.

Be interesting if injuries play a part more this coming season. Every manager says they are playing too many games.
