Pat McGinlay. He scored a few for us including a cracker in the Mercer Derby 🤣

failing that it has to be Zibi or Paul Hartley

I still think that was Robbos goal, I thought he got a HT that day but didn’t touch CLs header either.
I think Mcginlay only won once against us and that was for Celtic.

Matt Doherty.

Purely for his interview after 5-1.

Dont recall his exact words when asked if he'd be back at Hibs the following season but "you have to be ****ing joking" was the gist.

Turned out to be a bit of a player, too.

After he'd scrubbed Hibernian out of his system.

Nesbitt for missing that penalty,

Roughie and his dream of winning a derby,

Beaumont for showing Fozzy the way without hindrance,

Zibi...for everything,

Miller, Tortolano, Hunter, Weir, Kane, McGinlay and many, many more for being shite at derbies,

Stanton, Blackley, Miller, Duffy, Calderwood, Hughes, Fenlon, Ross... for being shite managers in derbies.

Hibs fans, too, for holding on to the delusion that they're club is better than Hearts because of "discovering Brazil, floodlights, Euro trailblazing, undersoil heating, Bukta, flair, swashbuckling..." but nothing that actually matters like derby wins, trophies...you know, daft things like that.

Please Hibs, just keep being yourselves and never change.

Sincerely,

Me.

I've enjoyed so many Hibs players over the years. Usually the ones they big up and then they turn out to be a polished turd.

The list is long.

Who knows but I doubt if many of that era would pick him above the two Walkers or Bauld or Mackay.

Not in my opinion.  Big Tam MacKenzie has Smith in his pocket for most derby games.

Or Wardhaugh or Cumming.

Or even Alex Young.  No question though of the qualities of Smith.  5 league winners medals outside the O F.  Not to be sneezed at.

Benny Brazil always made me laugh

Cyclops Sneddon , especially for when he headed the ball to Robbo to score on his comeback game after returning from Newcastle

Took a while for Roughie to be mentioned. I’m surprised nobody has said wee Tam McAnus yet. They both have absolutely appalling derby records - as do most of them to be fair...

Robbo claimed it and was officially credited.

It's certainly part of the 27.

His 17th, and final, attempt at the derby was a cracker.

Runs out to beat JC to the ball, darts past both, JC quickly gets over his surprise, finds Robbo...

Cheers Roughie, ya big 🎈.

I'd vouch for him too. The added bonus that he mentioned he thought he was signing for us when he first arrived. 😂

Willie Hamilton - I could not believe it when Tommy Walker let him go to them. They probably got the best years out of him.  Probably the most talented player I’ve seen at either club.

Honourable mention to Gary O'Connor for this incident

(actually think it was a criminal waste of a good player that he didn't make the most of his talent (for Scotland, of course, not Hibs)

Yes. Jock Stein rated Willie better than even Jimmy Johnstone and as he was the only person to manage both his opinion is worth a lot.

Every single Hibs player who played for them from April 1st 1989 to April 30th 1994. Great bunch of lads.

The only Hibs player I've genuinely admired and wanted us to sign every time I saw him was John McGinn, partly because we desperately needed someone like him. Usually with their best players we have someone as good or better in that position. It's rare for them to have someone who's on a completely different level to almost any of our players. I was also insanely jealous when they signed George Best, until I went along to see him play for them.

Shiels deserves a wee mention for helping give us this delightful memory (about the 3 minute mark for the penalty):

No one said Ivan Sproule yet? Gets sent off in the 4-0 semi and was in the team that got beat 5-1. Classic example of a road runner but no end product, much to our hilarity!

Салатные палочки

"Porty" is fast becoming as new favourite. Ever since they started bigging him up after he threw himself around in a game against Rangers he has been an absolute liability for them.
