From the Times: ‘Drugs, sex, SAS missions — the extraordinary life of Ben Timberlake’ He had a pistol held to his head on his gap year, he took Ecstasy while serving with the SAS, he was nearly stoned to death by an angry mob for selling porn. Then he got addicted to heroin – on purpose. Now Ben Timberlake has written a memoir of a life of chaos and risk-taking Total bammer. The excerpt from the book about dropping the E’s is entertaining. Happy to copy and paste if anyone wants it. We all know someone a bit like that, to differing degrees… Continuing with a military theme, Business Insider caught my eye with: ‘France: Airman tied up and fired at by fighter pilots in brutal hazing’ Got to hand it to the French - new pilot arrives at a base, his colleagues kidnap him, tie him up, hood him, chuck him in the back of a truck then drive him to an air to ground firing range before tying him to a stake and having a good laugh while jet fighters strafe and drop munitions in his vicinity. Would never have thought i would listen to books online but it’s very relaxing and better than sleeping tablets to knock u out ! I never knew the guy personally but I know a lot of people who did and when this exploded into the media there was a LOT of embarrassment/incredulity around these parts.
