Think I'd chop my cock off it we signed O'Donnell

It’s balls Scotland needs, they’ve got enough cocks already. ☹️

Can't believe O'Donnell is getting the pelters he is on this thread. He's a good SPL level player and more than adequate for the needs of HMFC. His signing wouldn't exactly set the heather on fire but he'd certainly improve our squad

Exactly only months ago people were moaning we hadn't signed him

He is a very average SPL level player who is not nearly as good as Shaun Rooney of St Johnstone, Michael Smith is also a better player.

O'Donnell seems to only be touted on here because Steve Clarke likes him, if anyone has watched him play they'd know that he wouldn't improve our first XI

He’s just another player who, if we sign him,  will never play for a bigger club than hearts when he leaves. The tactic of signing seasoned pros who won’t get a better deal than us for the remainder of their careers hasn’t been a good one.

Cut The Crap

O'Donnell looks like a guy who knows he's playing well out of his league.

No thanks.

FFS Marshall couldn’t even get a game for Derby County towards the end of last season, Rooney has sussed he’s Tom Kite.

He must be the luckiest goalkeeper round, he managed to get 44 caps which is more than McGregor and only 13 less then Gordon, two keepers miles ahead of Marshall.

Probably because that kind of player won’t take us where we want to be, bog standard average player, better than what we’ve got though.

Bang average. Smith is better. Only improves our backup option at RB.

Personally wouldn't want either of them at RB next season. We can do better.

BackOfTheNet

I’ve been consistent in my comments regarding O’Donnell, he should be nowhere near Scotland and although he’d be good enough for this current Hearts team he’s nowhere near good enough for where we aim to be. There’s a reason an international right back can only interest teams like Kilmarnock and Motherwell and not better teams. Patterson or Fraser should start against England. And Hearts should never think about O’Donnell as an option.

I would literally go and sign whoever the Cowdenbeath or Stirling Albion Right Back is, without ever having watched them play, than sign O Donnel.

If we were speculating they may announce a signing during the game as it would be a disappointment then I suppose we say no signing is good news?

(I’m struggling to find positives today, help me out)

The clamour for our national right back was so great he signed .....................................................

a one year deal at Motherwell.

All that needs to be said really

We can’t move on new signings ‘till they’ve finished playing in the euros.

Quite true. Short term I'd have had (Shay) Logan if I'm honest and I'd have used Smith as cover at CB/DM.

Hopefully we have someone younger lined up though.

Mulgrew is away to Dundee Utd... I'm told by a pal up there that he was due to have a medical today...

Hopefully that's true because Neilson can **** right off if he thinks signing him would be a good idea.

Assuming the other one is Hendry. A bit meh about that one tbh.

Maybe bongo is being cryptic. Is there another Mulgrew?

My depressometer has gone ballistic again.  First the England cricket team.  Woeful.  Now the Scottish football team.  Woefuller.  Now I'm being threatened on here by us signing some donkey called O'Donnell.

What next? Oh yes.  England on Friday.  That will be a hiding behind the couch job.

Would be happy with Hendry similar to Irving but quicker feet and bit more attack minded.  Mulgrew is a bit meh but would give us Souttar Halkett Mulgrew Smith...Tea lady then Popescu so if we sign a 1st pick Rb then we have decent enough CB options (never seen Cammy Logan play so cant comment on him at Rb)

Absolute Scenes

Surely not 😂😂 after coming out to not sign Logan due to age and then sign an older player

Sincerely hope it’s not true, especially as Neilson has consistently mentioned how we need a younger group of players.

If we sign him, it’ll be announced with two much younger players if Bongo (who has called transfers right before) has the inside info.

Regan Hendry is think would be a decent signing, a young player with good potential.. nothing to not like.

I however would lose my shit if we signed mulgrew. A million times I’d have signed Logan and kept Smith at the back before Charlie ****ing mulgrew

Still not keen on another has been. We do need a left sided centre back but surely could do better than a 35 year old

I don’t want Charlie Mulgrew in the slightest. Just a guess at how it might be presented by the club.

Agreed.
Mulgrew as our first signing would contradict everything Neilson and Savage have said recently.
