Bad taste to be openly celebrating his death. I won't lose any sleep over it though.

I agree. Not a royalist but will always respect the dead.

Even more bad publicity for the cheeks.  Though their fans will probably lap it up.   The sad thing about the old firm is that it isn't just the youngsters in their support.

Weird culture to be attracted to in this century.

I'd be more worried about letting off fireworks in daylight, seems a waste.

Anyway, shed probably?

They really have no place in Scottish society. Scum to the core!

I just wish folk would show a little respect Tam, us included, some of our support let us down in the past and I like to think we have learned from it. But for crying out loud, is it to much for people to just behave sometimes? When I was a wee laddie ( long time ago) we were taught to show reverence and respect when someone in the community died regardless of their background.

 Indeed, Taz.

We were hung out to dry that day.

Yes

We were set up and, sadly, more than a few obliged the SFA by not just keeping quiet for a minute. That minute silence would never have been arranged if it was Rangers that Celtic had been playing.

But the behaviour of Celtic fans today will be ignored. Just as well for Celtic that there couldn't be any fans in the ground today. Just as the fixture calendar always having Celtic away from home on Remembrance Sunday is never mentioned.

However, they will never be allowed to play in any English league division because of the way they "celebrate" their Irish heritage.

Arguably the worst example of double standards by the SFA and Scottish Leagues for a remembrance tribute, however, didn't involve Celtic. It was the year they insisted Hearts travel to Aberdeen on the same day as the Haymarket Remembrance Service a few years ago.

Shower of crap.  Celtic will say their club and the fans involved are not affiliated.

Ireland is a fantastic country. Why do you need to tarnish it because Celtic fans are obsessed with it. It was a bunch of weegie wankers setting off fireworks, no Irish folk.

Yep. The great majority of people in Ireland are more interested in the EPL (or "cross channel" football as they called it when I was last there) than in Celtic.

An embarrassment of a club and support.

Hope this gets a lot of publicity in England. Shine a light on the bigotry and madness which is tolerated in Scottish society.

After Scottish independence, I want independence for Lothian.

The SFA are consulting "stake holders" aka Celtic and Rangers.

In celtic's defence, every club has fans that but embarrassing. Point and case.

Can't remember our supporters ever doing that.  Or hanging effigies.  Or bemoaning an insufficient number of deaths in the ibrox disaster.  Or celebrating the brutal murder of a serving soldier.

Agreed. But the point was ... will the media reaction be the same outrage?

I find the coverage of the Chooky Embra's death nauseating but wouldn't dream of abusing a minutes silence for anyone.

It would be nice if we could have a good plastic provo bashing thread without recourse to self flagellating whattaboutery.

Maybe the '80s weren't so bad after all. :(

Expecting Celtic to condemn this is unrealistic.  It would be hypocrisy if they did.  Like new rangers, bigotry is their bread and butter.

A sectarian gesture of hate by a hateful sectarian support !

sadly this is  not a surprise, as pathetic and insignificant as the gesture was such degenerative behavior should be highlighted publicly to show the true face of the old firm scumfest

Do you think that the British Establishment, Royal Family, anyone in Westminster actually knows/gives a toss/would change the funeral arrangements because of a football match in Glasgow?

Nope, me neither. The game will be postponed because people in Scotland know what a f******* rammy there will be between the arse- cheek moron wings of their supporters.

In the run up to the game that week. The SFA were repeatedly asked to drop this minutes silence as it was expected it wouldn’t be observed,
