DH1986
One of CL’s biggest errors of judgement was not finding a like for like replacement for Haring in January 2019....even someone on loan. I hope he can find that level of form once again.....he was a joy to watch at times.

Why do we allow teams this freedom and wait until they put in a cross or shot before trying to stop them? What is wrong with tackling up the park so they don't get near our defense? The defense and keeper should be the easiest jobs in the team if all the mids and strikers did their bit. I can only imagine it's down to slow aging legs, daydreaming and being lazy. There can't be any reasonable tactical reason for it.

A_A wehatethehibs
Good interview with him in the EEN today Seems positive and particularly reflects on how poor he was against Dundee when he got hooked. He admitted he’s found it tough to break in this season during the spells when the team was winning games, but was feeling better and better after the bounce games. Then he got his daft red and suspended
Ribble
3 hours ago, Jim Panzee said: exactly. cannot understand why Haring hasn't been given the same leeway as Halliday. getting Haring and Soutter back to their best would make a big difference. Huge difference between Halliday being a few weeks off the pace after missing most of pre-season and Haring who was out for 18months, most physio's will say it takes 1.5 times the length of injury for a player to get back to their pre-injury level. Going by that Haring will be out of contract before he's performing at his pre-injury level!

(obvs not recovering from a potentially career threatening injury). you'd hope that had we been bossing games this season, that RN would've given Haring and some of the you players a few minutes here and there to help with the fitness. He said something along those lines when he joined. But Hearts had only had a few bounce games and LC group games. Then he came on in the 6-2 game against Dundee, scored, and looked in perfectly good condition. Maybe says more about how bad the condition of our players was that he came in and wasn’t far off the pace after 6 months in lockdown. A bang average player but fitness and work rate wise he’s been fine imo. With Haring, As per the post above, physios will tell you it takes sometimes a year or more for a player to get that power back in his legs. What often happens is, clubs don’t have the patience, managers change and the player moves on, then a year or two later he’s back to top form at another club. But the original club spent all that fortune of his rehab but didn’t wait to reap the benefit. You’ve got to be patient with a player coming back and give it time. But let’s hope we’re seeing the first signs of the Haring fight back now. It would be great to see him put on a maestro performance on Friday night, the fans might even forget about the Neilson rage for a few hours if we got to see vintage Peter Haring again. 🤞
Pilmuir
Peter Haring back to his best would be a massive boost. We must be patient though, he was out for ages and has had very few games this season. Hopefully he keeps his place for the remaining games. Whoever drops out could hardly complain.
davemclaren
Didn’t see the match on Saturday but comments sound positive about Haring. If he can get back to near his best he’ll be a very useful player for us again.
mscjambo
If the one positive of this season is we get a fitter stronger Peter Haring back next season then that's something. It was hard watching him at points this year struggle but he was our for over a year, so maybe it could take that amount of time to get your sharpness, fitness and confidence back too. Fingers crossed that we do see him get back to somewhere close to where we know he can be

Rick James
4 hours ago, JamboBoy said: The decision can never be the player’s to make. The management and specifically Levein nearly ruined his career and indeed may well have done so as he has really struggled since his return. I really hope he makes a full return to where he was for the sake of the club and , of course the player himself. There can be no excuses for what happened by anyone involved. Levein offering to play him in the final was a mistake, but ultimately it was Haring's decision. Of course, the prospect of playing in a cup final was too much to turn down even with his injury, but no way Levein could force him to play. Glamorgan Jambo
Played very well tonight and hopefully his confidence has got a boost. Looked very tentative with his tackles in the first half, obviously worried about mistiming one and getting a red. Great pass to Hendo for his goal too and came on to a great game in the second half. As the OP said needs to play every game between now and the end of the season.

He was out for such a long time and the lack of minutes he’s been given this season is absolutely bizarre. There were signs of the old Haring on Saturday, unfortunately too many others weren’t at it but he’s such an important player, we just need to get him games. He had a shocker at Dundee in January but the inconsistency of selection has harmed him badly. Another example of mismanagement this season First time he looked like his old self tonight, not been rushed back with next season in mind. No Idle Talk
When you see a performance like that tonight you realise how much time we have wasted this season by playing Andy Halliday in central midfield. Halliday isn't capable of a performance like that. That's not me having a go at Halliday, it is just stating a fact. Haring is one of the players in the current squad that we need to be getting the best out of. He is one of the best players we have. Robbie says he's a player who needs game time. So give him game time! Haring was a class above tonight.
Tom Hardy’s Dug
I presume Irving is defo leaving and we are now playing with those who will be here next season. On that front what is Haring’s contract position? Still a bit concerned Robbie doesn’t rate him - which is gobsmacking.
