Looks like an "f", then possibly a "u" at the beginning, followed by some indecipherable letters then "dge" at the end. Actually I only have to zoom in slightly then the small figures appear. From middle, left to right. I think if it's a halfpenny size it has to be a stud for a garment. Is it metal? Look at the second picture, it looks like the bit that goes into the neck of the bottle but squashed. The vintage makes me think it's a drink of some kind.
