Found this a wee while back. It's the size of a half pence.

Top photo is front.

Can you also take two shots showing the object in profile (i.e. from ground level) with the topside up and then the bottomside up?

Word looks like “vintage” to me?

Could be.

Now, call me Columbo if you like, but I suspect if something is vintage, (and potentially priceless) it doesnt  actually have that written on it?

😁

Doesn’t matter what the hell it is it’s just nice to see a thread that isn’t people competing to be the most outraged 😀

Oh, I'm not so sure about that, Taz.

Looks like an "f", then possibly a "u" at the beginning, followed by some indecipherable letters then "dge" at the end.

If it's "ckbu" missing this thread could still get ugly.

😉

Vintage port?  Looks like a squashed bottle top.

Fascinating object in the first picture.   There's a definite possibility it reads as vintage.  I can see small outlines of soldiers holding rifles or at least figures and faces zoomed in.  😲.    Actually I only have to zoom in slightly then the small figures appear. From middle, left to right.

I think if it's a halfpenny size it has to be a stud for a garment.

Is it metal?

I think it's an old style bottle cork.  Look at the second picture, it looks like the bit that goes into the neck of the bottle but squashed.   The vintage makes me think it's a drink of some kind.
