Are we supposed to do something? Wave a flag?  Sing GSTQ?

The day hasn't been mentioned in the media here.

HM ships and RFA's have to dress ship overall.

Most get away with Masthead Ensigns

It's a day that never gets much coverage

I must have been living under a rock, never heard it mentioned in previous years.

Was formally known as Empire Day and has been an annual event since WWI.

It's a bigger deal in some of the Commonwealth than the UK nowadays, public holiday in some countries with events taking place in numerious countries, Queen gives a speech to the Commonwealth and there is normally a thanks giving service in Westminster Abbey.

There was even an omnibus stamp issue in 1983, issued by around 50 Commonwealth Countries.

Everything is very low key last year and this due to covid.

Most ships find an excuse to fly the Port flag(ship out of normal routine), to avoid the hassle of dressing ship overall. Therefore masthead endings only. Hoisted at colours, and hauled down at Sunset or evening colours, which ever occurs first.

A Boy Named Crow

Speaking as someone living in a commonwealth country, I have to say this day...
