JudyJudyJudy Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Really enjoyed this . 8/10 . Meru is a 2015 documentary film chronicling the 2011 first ascent of a new climbing route up the prow of the dramatic Shark's Fin on the northeast side of Meru Peak in the Indian Himalayas. The route required a complex range of alpine climbing, big wall climbing, and aid climbing techniques

Incredible views and most fun activity ever. If I had the time to learn Id definitely do paramotoring and explore Mexico doing it.

Tommy Brown Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Not a documentary, but a docu-drama Dirty Business Ch4 Scandal of water companies polluting rivers
mrmarkus1981_1 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 The new Louis Theroux doc is ok. Not as good as previous endeavours but that's mainly because the interviewee's were all very cagey (IMO). https://www.netflix.com/title/81920687 These tiktok/insta 'influencers' are something else. Bad enough on their own, feck knows why you would give them your money!!!!

But they're not real men in my opinion

I'd been looking forward to this and honestly thought it was quite disappointing and didn't really achieve anything positive. Would have been far more interesting for me if he'd managed to interview some of the women (particularly the mother of the one living in Spain) on their own and also some of the young fans of these types of guys. The arseholes themselves were just milking Theroux for their own content and the documentary has ended up giving them more of a platform. Edited March 12 by Jamboross

I thought it was very good it was quite revealing their body language compared to Theroux's (a chilled out guy with nothing to hide) whereas these guys were aggressive and threatened. He gave them credibility but at the same time questioned them he made them look very small which is what they are really. Angry loners with odd world views
JudyJudyJudy Posted March 14 Posted March 14 “‘Take that “ it’s a 3 part one . It’s surprisingly quite interesting . Follows them from their early days playing gay clubs ( I remember they played at “ solutions “ at the west end around 1990 ? ) I was more interested at drinking at the bar than listening to them . Anyway it follows their rise and the very public split when Robbie left . What a real **** he was after this . He publicly ridiculed Gary Barlow numerous times and other band members . Awful person and hasn’t changed much . Weirdly everyone thought Gary would be the big solo star but it was Robbie . Gary went into a depression for a few years and piled on the weight and became bulimic . Gradually got himself sorted again and probably realised he was never going to make it big as a solo star and reformed the group . I saw them at Hampden in their reunion tour and really enjoyed it . I think ultimately time has been kinder to Barlow who seems a decent guy compared to the vacuous Williams . He’s also a talented song writer and content . The rest of the lads seemed to be fine too . Not sure what Williams is up to.?
rudi must stay Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Louis Theroux Interviews Dame Judi Dench Great viewing a great actor of course but very humble

Bridge of Djoum Posted April 8 Posted April 8 There's a good 3-parter on Netflix, (in the US) ''Philly V the mob". Starts just after the reign of Nicky Scarfo and It's a good tale. Look out for the psycho John Veasey if you watch it.

Never ceases to amaze me how warped and evil some people are and when I watch these things , I just can’t comprehend how parents can knowingly let their kids be harmed in this way.
