To be fair i don't know the nickname for Edinburgh City and we share a city with them.

That’s a pity.

That may very well be generally true; but I saw a Scottish bloke on 'Impossible' answer 'Bathgate' to the Q: "Which Kent town is home to the Turner Contemporary Art Gallery: Bathgate, Margate, or Ramsgate?"

I kid you not ... 😄

Bet Ramsgate doesn't do chips as good as Aldo's

Dunno about that, but I'm guessing that you'll be indulging in 1st class sushi whilst having a wee Saké, or perhaps a few Asahi Super Drys and/or Sapparos as you enjoy the match. Hearts fans the world over have class & style.

Quite!

Anyhoo, Margate is renowned for its connections to both Turner, Emin, and (in nearby Ramsgate) Van Gogh.

However, as far as I'm concerned, Chas & Dave do it for me. @wattie exploitedhas WAY better tales to tell about Margate, but this is a classic of its ilk:-

Hi Mikey we went to pub down there it was like the league of gentleman   (its a local shop for local people   )   pretty inbred lol !!!!!!!   :rifle:

Well, I'm heading to Londinium the morning after the Derby Match and will be strolling to the 'Marble Arch Mound' to have a chuckle on Tuesday. See you in Hyde Park? We'll be the jakeys avec a crazy dug who answers to the name 'Brenda'.

Come to think of it, I remember that. The contestant didn't pass; they answered, "Hibernian".

When the quizmaster retorted, "The answer is Hearts", the contestant apologised thus:-

"Sorry, I thought you said, "What Edinburgh based football team are known as The Bum Farts, The Scuttling Rats, The Mangey Cats, The Sister-Fisting Warts, The Blood-Sucking Gnats, The Famous for Doing Everything First Deluded Twats ... my mistake."

Englunnders  are so ignorant when it comes to answering questions on Scotland, on these tv shows! ... and I say this (quietly) with an English wife!... although she claims she was conceived in Scotland. 🤔

Before Sky, the English thought only 2 teams played in Scotland. I remember being in Spain 1990. Our group was made up of myself, a Hibby and a Blue nose. Every English person who we spoke to knew nothing of us or hibs. However they were creaming themselves over my rangers supporting mate.

Don't think many English have heard of the Heart of Midlothian

Hearts maybe - even that is met with - yeah I think I've heard of them.

Nearly all English clubs are named after the town or City they play in whereas quite a few Scottish clubs are not.

Reminds me of an episode of “The Bill” years ago where a valuable painting or something has been stolen. One cop asks a colleague “What do you know about the Arts?” The reply was “It’s a football team in Scotland, innit?”

Not a mention but just watched probably the dumbest contestant ever, at least regarding geography.

Which Dutch city was named the city of peace and justice(think that was the wording). She said it's either Belgium or Geneva. 😂😂😂😂

The gal answered, "Belgium" and the bloke said, "I'd have said Geneva". Mental!

The best answer I heard to a question was on tipping point.

Q. Who was the first person to start package holidays in 1849.

Contestants answer. British Airways.

Tipping Point this afternoon

Which Scottish club did Steve Clarke leave to become Scotland manager?

Rangers          Hearts        Kilmarnock

Contestant says Rangers were a big and so are Hearts obviously. She went for us.

Certainly is and also the toughest quiz on the box.

If you watch it long enough you begin to see some connections. I cracked the 2nd wall tonight before the team did

Watched it since it started, but you're right. I did okay on the walls tonight. Just a case of spotting the red herrings. Some of the connections though where you have to guess what's going to be fourth, just insanely difficult at times.

Possibly but you have to have watched it long enough to see, for example, that by dropping the last letter of a word gives a connection of Italian Cities

Has there ever been the question “Which Scottish football club were first to get floodlights?”

The Hobos are proud of that.

They can be as proud as they want but the correct answer would have been Stenhousemuir.

Their fabled floodlights were first used after they had played an exhibition game under floodlights against Stenhousemuir at Ochilview.

As an aside their first floodlight game was a friendly against us which they promptly lost 2-0. They even hibsed their floodlight debut.
