Why can't they post the team in order of position rather than numbers? or do numbers along with formation + who is playing where.

They're all playing at Tynecastle - hopefully

Looks 4-3-3 to me

Do you think so. I thought more 4-4-2 with either Halliday or McEneff wide on one side with GMS on the other. 4-3-3 would be better though.

Back to the formation we went with at the start of the season. One winger, midfielder on the other side tucking in and width coming from the full back. Boyce playing as a second striker. No Naismith to slow things down. Looking forward to this now.

Mostly pleased. Don't like to moan, but what does Walker have to do to get a start?

Pleased to see Irving back and two up front.

Cannae win with folk. Folk shout from the rooftops that we need 2 up top and not a lone striker but then start complaining that Walker isn't starting when we go down the 2 up top route. JW is in good form but he doesn't fit in a 2 up top system.

So.....will it be Hearts getting off to a quick start today and possibly getting an early goal? Or will it be the same as i predicted pre-match last week? Slight excitement before kick-off, watch the opposition get a chance within the first minute or two, start tutting an shouting at the tv after 10 minutes getting frustrated and bored?

Which Hearts team will turn up? Who knoooows! Find out at 3pm.

Yeah, it looks like a very attacking set up to be fair

Walker should be starting. End of story.

Walker doesn't fit in the set up this week. He's not a CM, not a WM and not a ST.

Disagree. My choice earlier in the week was The same back four, Walker right midfield, McEneff in the middle with Haring holding and Mackay-Steven wide left and Gnanduillet and Boyce upfront.

Voice of reason

Bizarre decision not to start Walker! He’s been our best player for weeks. Good players can be slotted into any formation.

Yep, very strange. Probably our most consistent performer in the last 5-6 games albeit mostly off the bench.

It's almost as if the social media guy doesn't get to sit in with the coaching staff to discuss the exact formation. Or even that the club don't want the intricacies of the set up announced to the opposition an hour before kick off.

I'm guessing a 3 5 2 for what it's worth.

I'd have started Walker, but to be fair, I can't remember the last time he started and had s good game.

I'd also start Haring over Halliday, unless Halliday is LM.

I expect we'll line up 4-2-3-1 though;

Gordon

Smith Halkett Popescu Kingsley

Irving Halliday

McEneff Boyce GMS

Gnando

Walker is annoymous every time he plays out wide.

How on earth would the people that post the team know where they were going to be playing???

He's been a match changer (I'd like to say winner but usually he gets us a draw) when he come on later. I don't think he has 90 minutes in him, but can bust a gut for 30.

I quite like the idea but think Irving would be better a bit further forward rather than just in front of the back 4

For Mackay-Steven to do what he does best he needs support from midfield if he's getting forward. It's what he's had at his previous clubs but lacked since he's been at Hearts. Our midfield sit too deep to be useful to him. Can't 1-2 with players if they're sitting in front of the defensive duo and not getting forward to support. A change in team shape is the only way GMS will look anything like the player we know he can be.

How long has Walker got left on his contract ?

Looks like he has no future at Hearts.

3 year deal I think. A year left.

The Goalscoring Knee

I quite like the look of that line-up (which means I'll be wondering why after about 25 minutes). Be nice to be ahead by half-time for a change. Stuffy 2-1 us.

Good to see Haring on the bench.

Must be close to getting some game time.

How many weeks does he have to sit on the bench before getting some game time?

Yeh might switch up Halliday and Irving. Would make sense. Just think it’s more likely to be a diamond as switched to that against Inverness. Would rather have Walker at the top of the diamond if it is though. Although good problem to have if GMS plays well

The White Cockade

I’m guessing Jamie not fully fit which is why he comes on later in games

Could be carrying an injury

Just guessing though
