Gordon 6 Spectator

Smith 7 Unlucky booking, played well.

Popescu 8 Played on correct side of defence. Never lost a header, tackle, interception or pass. Motm

Halkett 7 Did well

Kingsley 7 As Halkett

Irvine 8 Strolled it

Halliday 7 Much better further forward. Like others, should have scored.

Walker 7 A lot better from him. Should have bagged a couple.

GMS 7 Run at them. Another who should have scored.

Ginnelly 5 injured

Boyce 6 Did okay, should have scored more

Henderson 6 Got a goal

Gnadgulliet 6 Can't ask for a better start than that.

Naismith 4 Contributed.

Neilson 9 More of that attitude to games please.

4-0 going on 10.

Thought the midfield was very good.  Shows how useful Walker can be if we're winning the ball high up the pitch, would give him an 8.  Agree Popescu as motm.

Thought the midfield was the key tonight.

Made them worry about us by playing further forward.

Walker MOTM for me, just ahead of Popescu.

Everyone else solid apart from Halliday who just goes through the motions.

Definitely.  Raith were incredibly brave/mad to try and pass the ball out almost every time, despite the pressing.

Standouts were Irving, Walker, Kingsley and Popescu for me. No one had a bad game though. Even Henderson managed a goal.

You're last sentence sums it up for me.  It wasn't a great stream but apart from the goal did he do anything?

PS Who missed that double sitter before his goal?

Boyce was always busy but should really have scored more than a single goal. He cannot be described as a clinical goalscorer.

Walker will be wondering tonight how he didn't manage to score.

Gordon - f all to do so hard to mark

smith - 7 neat and tidy on the ball never troubled

Popescu 8 best game he has had for us

Halkett- 7 solid much better tonight

Kingsley- 7 similar to smith neat and tidy, one bit of class with the back heal to Walker

ginelley - 5 started the game well then usual injury for him gutted cause when he plays looks a real threat

Halliday- 6 missed 2 sitters was okay at times but needs to do more for me

Irving - 8.5 different class one of the passes was absolutely outstanding

gms- 7 got sharper as the first half went on, excited to see when fully fit

walker - 8.5 was everywhere tonight much better when he plays that free role when Naismith isn’t there...

Boyce - 8 thought he was really good first half excellent goal should’ve had more.

Not much of note. Can't fault his effort but he's not got it ability wise.

Think it might have been Walker.

Straight after Saturday I precited a win tonight.   How much nicer to say "I told you so," when something goes right.

Defence done well in an attacking sense but came under absolutely no pressure defensively so its hard to judge them completely, Although that was due to how well we played in an attacking sense, I noticed we played a very high line at times, Reminded me of how we played under stendel.

Gordon 7 - be surprised if he’s had many quieter nights.

Smith 7 - nice one-two for Boyce’s goal.

Popescu 8 - very good tonight, much more comfortable on right side of defence.

Halkett 7 - solid.

Kingsley 8 - ran at the opposition more tonight, very good performance.

Irving 8 - strolled it.

Halliday 7 - better, should have scored however.

Ginnelly 5 - looked quite lively.

Walker 8 - I’m a big critic but that was much more like it, most energetic display I’ve seen from him for a while.

GMS 7 - decent but still working up his fitness levels.

Boyce 8 - best I’ve seen his link up play but another one that should’ve had more goals.

Henderson 6 - great that he scored but still looks far too timid.
Gnanduillet 8 - thought he looked rusty but could (should?) have scored a hat trick. Great header.
Naismith 6 - looked busy.

Yeah he missed some chances tonight but he keeps taking them as well so can't complain too much

Signings making a difference tonight. Both an 8. Gandy's goals the highlights but also though Mackay Stevens was influential. With Ginnelly going off the ball came his way a lot. Very positive, held the ball up well, good decision making and the odd good run. A lot to come from both. I had the stuffing knocked out of me on Saturday but my optimism has returned tonight and the red wine’s helping.. Will I ever learn..

Gordon - 6 Stood there looking very handsome.

Smith - 7 Got much tighter to Kennedy tonight.

Popescu - 8 Dominated Manny Duku. More comfortable on the right.

Halkett - 7 Strolled it.

Kingsley - 7 Defended well and linked up with GMS.

Ginnelly - 5 Injured.

Irving - 8 Dictated the game. Playing one twos. Everything went through him. Motm.

Halliday - 6 Better further forward but missed two absolute sitters.

GMS - 7 Ran at defence more and looked lively. Still not 100% fit.

Walker - 8 Much sharper and hungry tonight. Should have scored.

Boyce - 7 Worked hard and great goal.

Henderson - 6 Goal but very quiet.

Armand - 8 Looks a monster in the air. Two good goals.

Naismith - 5 Ran about and won the ball high up the field.

I’ll obviously be going against the grain here but I didn’t think it was a particularly great performance (I know, I know, we scored four goals).

RR were shite, as shown by the fact that they didn’t have a single shot at goal. I thought we were still pretty pedestrian in our play, especially in the second half.

I still think we lack a sense of injustice (as to what happened last season) in our play. Getting beaten by RR on Saturday was bad enough, I wanted them put to the sword tonight. Although we scored 4, with more application and desire we could have had a cricket score.

We played against a team that had played one game in weeks, the game they beat us in on Saturday. RR tonight looked like a team that were playing their second game in four days after not having played for weeks previously. They went down to ten men and looked a beaten and demoralised side, totally different from the outfit that turned up at Tynecastle on Saturday.

I not going to slate the team for a 4-0 win, but in the same breath I’ll not be going overboard about what was, a professional but by no means spectacular performance, despite the score.

Agreed, I didn’t think we were that great and very lax in front of goal. Had we been on form, that should have been double figures. I agree we were better than we have been in a lot of games, but weren’t up against much. Some players played well, but as a team there were a lot of mistakes. It’s a good starting point. Time to build on this.

Gordon 5 (for finishing a very difficult Sudoko)

Smith 7 . He’s always at least a 7

Popescu 8. Okay not the busiest night but he did everything right

Halkett 7 looked comfortable enough switching sides

Kingsley 6 Quiet but assured

Ginelly 3 injured again is a big worry for the future

Walker 7 a really good performance from him, especially first half. Tired a bit

Halliday 6 Okay. No better than okay

Irving 9. Tremendous MOTM by a distance

GMS 7 much improved On Saturday

Boyce 7 lost a point for missing sitters again

Henderson 5 good for him to get a goal and not his position but he was quiet. Maybe needs a bit more belief ?

Naismith 6 not much time but geed us up a bit when he came on

Gnanduillet 8 2 goals in a shortish cameo, one a tremendous leap for a header. Very good debut.

vlad on the tyne

Big poppy set the tone I felt. Very aggressive and showed real urgency. Irving was good. When raith went down to 10, it allowed him time and space to spray passes left and right.

Frightening that we had that fud pereira on loan last year and Jamie macdonald went to Alloa. Jamie's still a very capable keeper.

Thought everyone played well but I think it’s clear whoever plays centre mid beside Irving needs to accept they are their predominantly to win the ball and give to Andy. They need to cover ground, more defensive minded and keep it simple. If we have someone beside him who keeps getting forward other teams will and have strolled through our midfield.

I don't think that. Was simply imitating every poster foe the whole season who has been saying these things as recently as last week.

One bad game, you are the worst who's ever played. One good game and you are the next legend.

Do hearts not get any credit for that ? Playing well can make teams look poor.

Seems like whenever we win it’s because the opposition are shite.

Of course , you can only beat what's in front of you. Last night the opposition were woeful. We beat them. Great. We didn't play particularly well nor needed to.

But it was a perfect match for the debutant to play. Cruising, no pressure.
