Celtic’s Dubai Trip - player covid positive ( merged )

Gilberts Fridge

The amount of time and effort being spent by celtic and the type of defence celtic are trying to put out there makes me think that there are more issues surrounding this trip than have already surfaced.

This stinks of "attack is the best form of defence"

Last gig in football - No club can defend that, surely?

Disgraceful comments and for his own good should be emptied from Scottish football for good.

Any player/manager in England or Europe looking in at Celtic over the last few months may have had eyes opened to what an organisation they really are

The clip of Lennon's victim statement.

Making out two is nothing when we're talking about a highly infectious virus. Jeezo. Someone should tell him this whole thing started with just one person getting it.

How many players went to Dubai? 20, probably less? Two is 10% - way above the infection rate of the general population.

Watching a clip of that press conference I actually worry for the guys mental health, he’s had history previously and I think his bosses might have to step in to help him here.

Do you think he'll get a call from Maxwell?

Maybe Maxwell will give the Prem clubs a chance to suspend the league for a while. He’ll be typing the email as we speak

Funnily enough there's a lot more justification for him doing that given all the cases in the Premiership. And Robbo did say "all" football and apparently Robbo runs Scottish football now.

“Everybody’s negative, the whole squad is negative - except two players.”

“We were absolutely totally professional, we had a little drink in the afternoon.”

The lengths that muppet will go to just to avoid admitting they were wrong 😂.

It’s not just Neil Lennon either, this victim mentality runs all the way through that filthy club and their minging fan base.

I was run over by a bus but I was ok except for the broken ribs and punctured lung

I ran into a wall head first I was ok except for the broken skull and fractured cheekbone

I drove into 4 parked cars but and they were all ok except the two that were written off

The boy is unreal

It’s mental eh.

In all my years, Celtic have never ever done anything wrong and have never been to blame for anything ever.

Quite remarkable really.

I wouldn’t be in the least bit surprised if the two positive cases turn out to be an additional two.

Feel a bit sorry for him tbh. It is hilarious that Celtic have failed at 10IAR after all the scuminess last season to make it happen but Lennon is clearly struggling with his mental health.

I hope he leaves Scottish football and gets the help he needs.

I also hope Celtic continue to implode and have at least another few seasons of pain on the pitch.

He’s losing it and he’s contradicting what his ceo is saying. It’s typical Celtic arrogance except this time, even their own supporters want to kill them. No point blaming the government and the media

Utterly mental that Celtic have avoided any punishment for all of this yet they still believe they have been treated unfairly and are hard done by.

John Kennedy has admitted they broke rules. Peter Lawell has 'apologised'. Yet still, still, it has to be someone else's fault, doesn't it...surely??

The club that can do no wrong. Everyone else is wrong and they are permanently downtrodden victims ("nobody has suffered more than us").

There are no words that could do justice on my feelings towards Celtic and Neil Lennon.

There’s a much broader (and important) theme here which is the way that Celtic’s arrogance has been allowed to expand unchecked for years and years. It’s overwhelming now and anyone who looks at this neutrally would ask why a club feel free to act as they do, with indignation in the face of deserved scrutiny. You’ll have read Doncaster’s comments last week. He was clearly panicked at the thought of actually condemning Celtic publicly. The tail wags the dog up here, and this is the sort of situation it causes.

If true then he's had a problem his whole career. He's never come across as someone capable of controlling himself.

Yes, I have a distinct feeling this is going to get much worse for them, they are looking desperate now!

Problem is, they’re mostly getting hammered by their own fans.

One of two things is going to happen. Either Celtic’s fans will turn up the heat, or they fall into the victim mindset and start to back the club again

Maroon Sailor

This is Lennon all over.

He has never done himself any favours.

A simple " in light of the current climate it was a mistake to go on this piss up in the sun when there are so many working round the clock to save lives and so many living under severe restrictions"  would have sufficed

In fairness, if I’m looking at this from his point of view then even if he says that, there’s still the avalanche of dissent about Celtic’s season. I bet he’s utterly sick of everything and is just lashing out

**** Lennon and **** Celtic.

He won't go down in history as winning the quadruple quadruple, he will go down in history as the manager that ****ed 10 in a row.  All while having far more resources than even Rangers.

Typical Lennon and Celtic arrogance.   Show some humility for once FFS.  Think of all the skank Celtic fans still paying towards these loser's wages while possibly being on furlough themselves.

**** them all!

Absolutely agree with this. Their arrogance is astounding and the influence they have on the football authorities is clear to see. Was it ever explained why they were not awarded a 3-0 defeat after the postponement of the match following Bolingoli's holiday?

Until the end of last season I always hated Rangers more than any other club but this season I am finding myself wanting them to win every game to rub it into Celtic even though I still hate Rangers.

Which is sort of what Lawell said grudgingly. Now Lennon blows it up again. Must be trying to get Celtic fans on his side. You couldn’t make it up.

Agreed. I always disliked Rangers and their fans far more until recently. Celtic have become so arrogant and sanctimonious yet still playing the victim but wanting to be loved and admired at the same time.

They were so sure that the "Holy Grail of Ten In a Row" was a formality so the way they have managed to make such an arse of it is hilarious.

The guy is a complete tool.  Sellick, always the victims, forever offended, never ashamed.  Why not just accept that they shouldn't have travelled as the risk of infection was too great.  Then to say that they were professional etc and that only 2 players tested positive.......absolutely embarrassing.  He's on the verge of a breakdown!

Exactly, he's talking shite. It would only be hypocritical if other teams and fans, the media, pundits etc - anyone having a go at Celtic for this basically - were jetting off to Dubai for two weeks for no reason and coming back with Covid.

So 2 positives is remarkable. Maybe Neil needs to see these figures?

The fact he thinks 2 from 20 isn't very many should trigger a phone call from the JRG to check he's up on the safety protocols. If someone in a position like that isn't taking the virus seriously, how can we expect the people who work for him to take it seriously?

Of course, the JRG is completely useless and under Celtic's thumb.

Contrast with the way Robbie talked recently about  making sure how the players know how privileged they are to be playing football still and how they need to make sure they do everything the right way.

He’s gone full Trump this time.  What an absolute bellend.  This’ll end spectacularly.  Having a pop at the SG as well. Desperate attempt to piss them off. He needs to be taken into ICU and see for himself the strain that the NHS and it’s patients are under. Mind you he’d likely have a pint in his hand.
he has made that club a complete laughing stock which is pleasing tbh
