Fair assessment although i would probably score Halkett slightly higher and Smith a few lower.

Smith didn't really stand out to me. Didn't think he was at his best in all honesty!

Gordon 7 - Some important saves

Smith 7 - Stuck to his task but needed to show a bit more belief going forward in the first half

Halkett 9 - Tower and MOTM

Berra 8 - Very unlucky with pen that should never have been given.  Used his experience well

Kingsley 7 - Never panicked and done well for his goal but his pen in the shoot out made it too easy for their keeper

Walker 4 -  What's the point?

Irving 6 - Improved as the game wore on and we were on the front foot

Halliday 6 - Committed and never stopped trying, improved as game progressed

White 6 - Great run to start the move for the first goal, fairly quiet otherwise

Naismith 8 - Captains performance and lives rent free inside Browns head

Boyce 8 - Strikers performance and held the ball up superbly.  Good finish for the goal and you have to wonder what could have been if he had not gone off

Subs:

Wighton 6 - Added a different dimension up front and caused them problems.  Never looked like he believed his pen was going in

Ginnelly 7 - Had the Celtic defense panicking but should have had a hat trick

Haring 6 - Still not 100% match fit but done a good job defensively

Frear 4 - No time but did win us a free kick in an important area

Lee 6 - Gave is some energy in extra time.  Great penalty.

Gordon 7  Brilliant saves. Come and collected everything. None of the goals were his fault. Maybe should have stayed standing for Ajers pen but a difficult situation

Smith 7. As always with him. Superb

Halkett 7. Headed every ball. Good on the ball.  Did well with pretty much any attack except for a couple slips and the dodgy clearance

Berra 6. Done great second half and ET. Pen was silly

Kingsley 7. Goal and assist and defended superbly. Was great on the ball which makes a huge difference. Shame about pen

Walker 2.  Worst Hearts performance from any outfield player in a long time. In a cup final as well. An embarrassment for a so called Hearts man. So slow now.  Needs binned asap

Irving 6. Done ok in tough game. Grew into it. The next step in his development is bossing these kind of games but Celtic did press well. Set pieces toward end were good too.

Halliday 6. Like others, poor first half but improved. Assist was superb. Can’t fault his willingness to run and get on ball. Quality and awareness lacked at times

Naismith 7. Done really well in leading team. Such a difference when he gets on ball - just wish it happened more. If only he was a little quicker then could have got us up park. Works his balls off

Boyce 7. Similar to Naismith. So good on ball. Took his goal well. Work rate is outstanding

Gino 7. Made such a difference with his pace and running. Got a goal - could have been two. That shot instead of pass to Naisy was odd

Lee 7. So much better than Walker - should have started. Set pieces are top quality. The cross for Gino showed intelligence we have lacked in the past

Wighton 5. Worked hard and did at least try to hold the ball up. Did well today. Pen was v poor. His lack of confidence on ball is a major issue. Sadly will never be our level imo

Fair but I'd +1 to that, thought he was one of our best players.

Your Halkett and Smith marks need to be swapped round.

My half sister

Halkett was brilliant apart from his pass to Edward in the first half but deserves man of the match for his tears at the end of the game, proper Hearts man

Gordon - 7 Distribution wasn’t great but made a few decent saves.

Halkett - 8 Probably one of his best games. Very aggressive and dominant in the air.

Berra - 8 Other than the penalty he was outstanding.

Kingsley - 8 Very consistent as usual. Goal and assist.

Smith - 7 Usual solid, dependable self.

Irving - 7 Slow start but got on the ball more second half. Delivery was great.

Halliday - 8 Thought he was excellent. Tackles, blocks and of course great cross for Boyce.

White - 7 Lots of running. Bit of magic for the first goal.

Naismith - 8 Captain’s performance. Got under their skin. Could have scored.

Walker - 6 There was definitely running and tackling going on. But couldn’t get in to the game.

Boyce - 8 Led the line brilliantly. Got us up the park. Took his goal well.

Ginnelly - 7 Made a massive difference. Should have scored one or two before he did.

Wighton - 6 Did well.

Haring - 6 Brought a bit of composure.

Lee - 5 Delivery is always a threat. Good penalty.

Frear - 5 Not much time.

Hmm no sure about that.

Walker wouldn’t get more than a 5 from me, and Ginnelly did more in two minutes than Walker could all game before he got hooked.

Wighton gets zero. I just can't say a positive word about this loser. How can we let someone so awful represent us?

A few 8s throughout the team from 45 minutes onwards.

Gutted, so gutted. That was a sore one.

Most were a 6 or 7 at best and we came from behind twice in Glasgow v that lot in a cup final twice. If someone had stepped up and taken the bull by the horns we would be Cup winners, rat boy lennon would have been binned, there would have been riots outside parkhead. Instead we are all patting ourselves on the back as we are so proud of the effort. Bollocks, am the most passed off I have ever been after a defeat in a long time

That was a good encouraging performance from a team which needs to be improved.

Gordon - 7, Some good saves

Smith - 8, Solid

Halkett - 8, Solid but almost gave away a goal with a dreadful clearance.

Berra - 8, Solid, unlucky with the penalty. Hit the back of his hand after going past him.

Kingsley - 8, Goal and an assist

Irving - 6, Tries to complicate things and got caught on the ball a couple of times

Halliday - 7, Got stuck in

Walker - 4, Just not got the heart to compete against better opposition unfortunately.

Naisy - 8, Led the team well. Stamped on Scott Brown.

White - 7, wee Aidy fought bravely against a giant in Ajaer, thought he was good.

Boyce 8, Lead the line, scored, battled away. He's a gid player.

Ginnelly 7, changed things with his pace. A bit Greedy. Needs to be more composed.

Wighton 6, good hold up play, made a great chance for a shot and should have worked the keeper. Just have more confidence ffs.

Haring 6

Lee 6

Frear 4

Gordon - 7 - Key saves as ever. Saved a pen in the shootout. Not at fault for any of the goals

Smith - 8 - Only negative was the booking. Gets better and better

White - 5 - The epitome of headless chicken. However, did contribute to our first

Irving - 5 - Not sure how he lasted 120 minutes as he offered very little

Halkett - 8 - Apart from almost selling the jerseys once, he was as hard as nails

Berra - 6 - Can't fault him for effort. Can fault him for mistakes

Walker - 4 - Awful

Halliday - 6 - Set up the first but did little otherwise

Naismith - 8 - Was everywhere. Only marked down because he was lucky to stay on the park

Boyce - 8 - I think this was his best game in maroon. Ran himself into the ground, was possibly our best tackler and scored

Kingsley - 9 - Would have been a 10 had he not missed his pen. Just immense

Subs:

Ginnelly - 7 - Gave them nightmares with his pace but wasted golden opportunities to win it

Wighton - 4 - Offered little and his pen was worthy of a Pizza Hut ad

Lee - 6 - Our best passer of the ball and that ball to Ginnelly was sublime

Haring - 5 - Solid

Frear - 1 - No time
