All roads lead to Gorgie

Looked composed and stuck to his task well. Needs to keep that up standard for the season and look to get back in Scotland contention. A lot better than the Hanlons of this world.

Wish he had taken one of the penalties.  Was Livi's PK taker and didn't miss.

Think that's why he was in tears, whether he didn't volunteer to take one or wasn't picked, who knows.

Think he would've scored, we'll never know.

Tremendous today, he did Zal proud wearing the number 26.

With some of the jokers we’ve had over recent years, great to see players like him who clearly care.

This.

He is a good striker of the ball

Took a lot of abuse last season. Some fair but some way over the top.

Not surprising he looks far better with an actual goalie behind him. Still think he'll be a great signing for us.

Thought he was excellent today and could see how much it meant to him at the end in tears. Didn't deserve to lose today tbh.

Had a very good game, but Liam Boyce was my motm today.

Thought Boyce played well but Naismith was a true leader today. His experience, as much as anything else, got us the chance we had.

Should have been given one of the pens.

Yep, surprised me he didn’t take one. Hindsight: he should have been pen number 4.

I apologise, he was immense today and my MotM

His emotion at the end said it all

At half time he was one of only two players with pass marks, imo.

Probably his best game for us.

Him and Hallidays best game imo. Wish Halliday had been available for penalties.

Terrific.  Feel heart sorry for Berra.  Thought he was almost as good but spoiled it with a dreadful error.

We all make mistakes.

Hopefully will play in a final for us again and use the crushing disappointment of today as fuel for a win. Didn't deserve to be on the losing side today.

Not 100% convinced but did well today He’s good in air and wants the ball - even if he isn’t Souttar. Can lose concentration and is a tad slow.

Bit like few others from last years squad, want to see him with good players around him

Gordon and Smith is a start. Another CB and a holding mid (Haring ideally) and he will do well for us

No idea why he didn’t take pen.

Excellent today.I wish he had stepped up for a penalty but if he had missed he would have been on the hit list today.

Between him and Berra can't see us losing a lot of goals this season.

I really like him, he’s by far our best centre back just now. Has a mistake in him but if he can limit that in his game I think he’ll have a great career.

Seeing him tear up at the end was hard to watch as well.

He was struggling with cramp towards the end of the game. Possibly why he didn’t.

Agree with a lot of these posts that Halkett was excellent.

Was like he was the guy we were delighted at signing in the first place.

Hopefully got over some of his injury issues.

Also agree with someone who said he should have taken a pen.

He couldn’t run at the end

If you saw him shuffling back to try and defend hampered by cramp it would be no surprise he didn’t take a penalty

Was surprised he didn't. He was in my 5 in place of Wighton when I guessed.

No shame on anyobe on the shootout tho.

He was amazing today. Number of great headers from dangerous crosses. Positionally superb, composed too. Prob a good shout for MOTM actually, tho a few contenders for that

Outstanding today, tears at the end too shows what it meant, give him somebody quality to play beside. sorted.

Totally agree. I know his tears will be mocked by other supporters of certain teams but for me it showed how much he cared for Hearts. Utterly immense yesterday.
