Don't mind Halliday as a player at all, got a bit of dig and will chip in with goals as for media stuff it's no big deal and not sure why anyone would let this bother them.

Gordon Ramsay

He probably asked us if he could still go on the radio and kiss Gerrards arse before he signed and like the pushovers we are we said "Of course, Andy. When the pandemic is over you can go and watch them too but we might need to call you back if we're playing at the same time, if that's OK with you?"

That’s a fair point as long as you would have the same opinion on Craig Gordon kicking about the radio every time Celtic are on 👍

Correct.  After recent events it just makes us look like a further soft touch.

Agreed. A mirror image of the Burley formation.

The thing that annoys me is that Halliday knows he shouldn’t be podcasting and on the radio etx whilst playing for us. He wouldn’t be allowed to do it at Rangers, 100%, so why does he think it’s acceptable for us. I think it’s a disgrace that he’s on this weeks open goal after Saturday. I’ve got connections to Rangers, as I’ve discussed numerous times on here, and when ever they lose my connection doesn’t even come up to his box to see his family or friends, straight home. He doesn’t want fans to see him up mingling with folk when they’ve just lost. Anything planned that week, cancelled, no golf, no pals over, nothing. Halliday lost to a part time football club, one of the worst results in our history yet thinks it’s acceptable to have a laugh on a podcast and shrug off the loss as a bad day at the office that could’ve been 6-1 on another day. Sort it out Hearts.

Naismith and Gordon do media stuff do. Maybe slight difference is they are near end of their careers

Halliday needs to be playing a lot better to not get judged for doing media work. Head down and get Hearts up. Then worry about a career in media

Definitely not sure about the Open Goal stuff. Andy is great on it and i do love the show but ‘Slaney’ is a Covid accident waiting to happen.

Will say this. If Halliday was a Celtic man he would never ever get away with it. I hate Celtic more than Rangers but still doesn’t mean want him talking about Rangers every day. Plays for Hearts.

Some Hearts fans really want the little brother tag. As if that validates Hearts as a fan base. Pathetic

Gordon and Naismith do the media work but they don't constantly cream themselves about another team in the same country and hopefully soon in the same league the way Halliday does.

He plays for HMFC and gets his wages paid by them.

The public love in with Rangers is an embarrassment and needs nipped in the bud ASAP.

Diadora Van Basten

A Rangers fan told me when we signed him that he was awful.

I thought he might be wrong after his performance v Dundee and Hibs but now I am in agreement and wish we had never signed him.

You have to question the wisdom of signing a player who when coming on as a sub in an OF game was greeted with an ironic roar of appreciation from his club's fiercest rivals.

Spot on, like the Aberdeen players being out after losing to Rangers.
It’s a bad idea at the best of times but just now it’s even worse, imagine if he caught Covid and missed games or even the final. I’m not even sure he should be pushing his luck doing this in a tier 4 area either.

I did at the time and was shouted down, Ive not seem much apart from two good finishes to make me change my mind.
I’m sure the Celtic fans were singing his name in a cup game at Hampden when the players decided to play different tactics to that the manager at the time had instructed.

To be honest I wouldn’t want them doing that either with the way the BBC have treated us in the last few years. Old Firm players don’t seem to do it. It’s not like they need the cash.

That's true, but the point is these two are objective but Halliday can't stop banging on about Rangers at every opportunity.

He doesn't play for them, he needs to get over it and put one hundred per cent into the club that now pays his wages.

Have zero memory of him from when he was at Rangers, don't think much of what I've seen so far.

Also agree with all those who say play Irving every week. Ideal opportunity for him to learn his trade.

Without a doubt, Rangers, for some reason get an easier ride on here than Celtic.

They are both equally rancid imo, neither deserve the ‘upper-preference’.

I wonder then why one does, over the other?  🤷🏿‍♂️

Hes hardly been gushing over Rangers, he has an opinion as hes a fan of them. Im sure anyone on here would more than happy vent their opinion on the radio each week if giving the chance slagging off Hibs or praising Hearts if they were employed by Hearts if they were giving the chance.

The slack he gets is laughable. Hes not fully fit, yet hes scored more goals than Elliot Frear, Naismith and Boyce and also more assists.

Give him time.

Hes getting more slack than anyone when there are more players who deserve the slack compared to him.

As for the footballer, what I've seen so far i'd file alongside Wheelan. Not great & not interested.

Serious Question

what do you honestly think would mean more to Andy Halliday this season

Hearts winning the championship or

Rangers winning the premiership

unfortunately I think we know the answer

This attitude might be ok for the likes of Kris Boyd when he played for Kilmarnock and he bummed up Rangers every week

We are Hearts, we should not have one of our players constantly talking up his ex club

Would he get away with it if he was still a Rangers player, no ****ing way would that be tolerated, so why the **** does he think he can as a Hearts player

I’ll be delighted when this hun-obsessed prick leaves Hearts. Meantime, he could do with focusing on the day job. The only upside I can see is that he’s likely to play out of his skin - whatever that means in his case - in the Cup final.

No, it's Llawell making sure the season ended early and standing positions to rule.  I have always disliked Rangers more than Celtic, until this past farrago.

It's not looking good for Andy, I'd play him in the cup final you know he will give it his all, but he lacks professional class with his other part time job

Open Goal podcast show he participates in every other day

I actually thought he was going to be a decent signing ...and he still might be, scored a few Decent goals, but has looked way off the mark in games aswell.

I do wish he’d stop appearing on that open goal though, probably more for covid reasons , it’s not his job so it’s really not that important & everyone knows he’s a rangers fan which is fine , but it can come across as annoying. It would seem in order of importance it’s his opinion on current affairs at rangers no.1 then how hearts got on at the weekend 2.

Just concentrate on the football and getting hearts out this league.

This in spades. Its this type of attitude that needs kicked in to touch. Having lost to dunfermline in the league and alloa in the cup, I really hope its the boot up the backside the players need. Its only a 27 game season so no room for complacency or arrogance. We should be strong enough to get out the championship. With the right attitude, we should be romping it. The way we're going so far, looks like will just scrape it!

Why are we still talking about lack of fitness, he has had loads of game time, more likely it is how our coaching curbs players natural game in favour of a safety first possession one. The good player we seen four or five years ago should still be there, especially for this level. Their are glimpses from Halliday and he gets himself into forward areas, but not nearly often enough, it needs to be encouraged, and not only be him. Especially with Boyce as a loan striker, and that does not need to be negative if others are pushing on and joining in. As for the Rangers thing, very immature, not a fan of bigotry but I don't have to socialise with him, if a player is not playing for the jersey ( and few do ) they need to be playing for personal pride. Caution will not win this league or favour with our fans. time for change Robbie.

The media stuff doesn't really bother me and you could tell he was hurting after the result. But one thing that annoyed me was that he said on another day we could have won 5-1. It makes me think that the players and management have discussed this and written it off as 'one of these days'. It most certainly wasn't, and was nowhere near an acceptable performance.

Think it's actually two.

Maybe the club should take him aside and remind him who is paying his bloody wages and get all the other stuff knocked on the head.

I absolutely agree Busby.

Just because we're not the OF doesn't mean we shouldn't have standards. Losing to Alloa.. hell being unable to score against Alloa is ****ing beyond embarrassing. Every single one of them should be in hiding because thats totally unacceptable.

There seems to be this mentality where if you're not playing for the OF it doesn't count or something. I also think its fair to say Walker & Naismith aren't stepping up either. To give Naisy his credit he did during the semi final, but we need to see it every game not just when its a showpiece. Walker can leave in January as far as I'm concerned. He's hiding at this point and a total waste of a jersey.  It seems like mentally he's retired and is just phoning it in at this point. Very disappointed tbh.

Doncaster et al must be itching for it to happen, there's hardly any social distancing on that show, and if footballers at clubs are supposed to stick to their "bubbles" to reduce the risk, he must be breaking some sort of protocol by being there. They have just thrown the books at Hamilton and St.Midden for similar breaches (infringement on social distancing), they'll be looking for other clubs to throw 40k fines and 3-0 game defeats at.

Is the show held in a hospitality environment?

May be one way of getting round.

Is Halliday breaching the no cross council travel ban.  But then he could say it is work, training for future career.

Same could be said of Naismith and Gordon with their Sportscene appearances, I suppose.

Given it’s in Glasgow he’s actually only crossing the council zones to play for Hearts.

Andy knew he was behind the lads in fitness and bond within this Hearts squad, he is getting there in terms of his fitness.

Trust me he is gutted that we lost that game, all the lads feel they missed an opportunity to hurt Celtic today.

They will be better players for it though, Halliday has a lot to prove to himself.

10/10 for standing up to Celtics pish, giving everything he had to try to make it hard for them.

This lad will be looking to give us silverware, not yet at his full potential and he knows it.
