I read today that this guy has been sacked from the BBC for referring to a scuffle on the pitch as ‘handbags’ whilst radio commenting on a game.

If indeed that’s all he was sacked for it seems extreme to me.

I would doubt that has happened.

Handbags is a pretty well used term used in the English language not sure anyone can get sacked for it.

Anyway aren't both men and women allowed handbags?

I’m guessing it would of been during the woman’s game last night as he was part of the commentary team.

All roads lead to Gorgie

I would have sacked him for his poor presentation but if it is for that comment, the worlds gone mad.

I'm sure many Rugby pundits use the term so are they about to be booted out too?

Regardless of which Steve Thompson it is, if there is any truth in the report(s) whatsoever then it is a total nonsense.

ToadKiller Dog

Think its more the comment about the player would be better wearing a skirt that got him suspended than the handbag.

Also for a bizarre reason mentioned the refs wife.

He's a football commentator not chubby brown.

I always imagine his wife "the Booby" must have went about all day out of the game on Valium .

Indeed but it will get some up on their high horses though.

Yea, the fisherpersons will be more raging about this than the Brexit betrayal that's a coming!

Just been watching an interview with the leader of the coalition government in Finland, a woman, and the BBC interviewer, a woman of course, suggested that the countries who got it right early with Covid were women, Finland, N Zealand, Germany and the Finnish female politician disagreed and said there were examples where men were in leadership where they got it right.  She added that it's not the person's sex but what they do that counts.  BBC interviewer couldn't hide her frustration.

Now that we are back in reality, can I say that I have been impressed with Leeanne Crichton as a pundit.

BBC going completely over the top with political correctness , turning into a joke .

Added to Suzanne Moore having to leave that woke bible, the Guardian, for arguing in favour of biological facts, the country is, indeed, turning into a joke.

The BBC in it's death throes decides to accelerate the process.

I wonder how much we are paying the tits who made the decision.

You're sacked!
